rent in my area is literally $1000/mo for a single room apartment on the cheaper side, due to our proximity to a multitude of defense contractors and IT gigs. a lot of families choose to band together and live in houses packed to the gills, especially Hispanic families

it's not like I live in a nice area either, it's basically a giant strip mall. but due to its proximity to nicer areas and big business costs have skyrocketed. public transit is nonexistent outside of the DC Metro too

Most people we talked to said they keep on raising rents. One person they talked to said it was up to 1800 a month. Which is ridiculous. Bad location, and not a high standard of housing.

If it's a bad location with a low standard of living, why are they choosing to pay $1800 a month to live there?

because moving is expensive and requires a huge amount of refactoring for transportation, work and various other things. it's also a huge stressor for children

it makes the property and investments more valuable because the area increased in value

Right now I daily a 2002 Honda Civic, but also have a 1991 Mazda Miata that needs serious work (and will likely be scrapped because of water leaks and rust damage to the frame rails, sadly)

1997 Nissan Maxima (bulletproof)

oh, the MR2 Spyder is also a car that I legit see mostly driven by women. which is also a shame because it's a good sports car with Toyota reliability and lots of upgrade potential, but the looks are just so... soft

as much as I love the Miata (I own a 91), it's definitely not a masculine car. butidgaf because it's easily the best car I've ever driven in terms of feel, handling and fun factor

I think the PT Cruiser or New Beetle are girlier though. for fucks fake, the Beetle had an option to come with a vase and flower in the dash
