I would seriously love to see this as a competitive eSports game. It's so different from anything I've played before.

Yeah, they are quite a bit easier. Honestly, Marrowgar was the toughest one so far because of the bone spikes.

like, the only weak card is the servant of kalimos (I assume that was your forced synergy?) and maybe the Vryghoul, depending on how many ping-classes you're facing.

Yeah, that was forced, though I chewed through my deck so quickly that I almost always found Igneous to activate him.

I didn't face all that many ping classes; or at least when I did, they couldn't ping him for value.

This deck was able to go big AND go wide. Innervate out giant monsters like Bonemare and Ancient or just break your opponent's curve with the Innervates and ramps. I never cast both Infestations in a game but having 2 meant I always found one of them. Spreading Plague + random dudes into Mark of the Lotus felt filthy. Beautifully filthy. My favorite deck I've ever drafted.

The only loss was to an absolute nightmare of a priest who had Raza and DK Anduin and every single removal spell at the exact right time.

EDIT: I should note I high-rolled pretty well with the portals. I don't think I ever got worse than a 6/6 vanilla, and once I got Illidan. Then again, there aren't many bad 6-drops like there are 5s except Big Time Racketeer.

hmm... if there's a way to do it I don't know how. did you use any kind of deck tracker when drafting the deck? I know if you use hearth arena they save the deck list for you.

HearthArena feels like cheating, so I don't do it anymore. Plus I never would have made this deck if I were doing it!

I freely admit (and have done so with Kanz in private too) that I really shouldn't be admining this kind of game until I am in a secure place with my time.

FYI, I was involved with pretty much every ruling, and I'm helping with ability standardization, but keeping track of all the player-facing logistics stuff is just as if not more important, and I did squat with that.

Awesomest Card: Daze



Daze is how you make a "free" counterspell the right way. It's a surprisingly intricate card. Bouncing the island to cast it for "free" is a real downside, and it's only useful the first few turns of the game, but its very existence makes your opponent respect it -- or else.

But you can do so much more with Daze if you get creative with it. Here's a list of silly things I've done with Daze:

-Cast a spell in response to someone trying to blow up my island, tapped that island for mana, bounced it with Daze targeting my own spell (thus saving it), then used the floating mana from the island to pay for the Daze and resolve my spell successfully.
-Beat a Hive Mind player at his own game by Dazing my own copy of a Pact he forced me to cast even though I only had one mana open to pay for the Daze copy he got. I simply chose not to pay for my own Daze.
-Dazed a Hymn to Tourach in the mid-game to have a higher chance of him hitting a land (and so he couldn't use a kill spell on my Goyf that turn)

It's just a really sweet design that you can do more with than it seems to show. My love for this card isn't going to go down anytime soon.

Honorable Mention to Tangle Wire for being the most subtle-yet-effective troll card ever printed. Nobody understands how ridiculous that card is until it ruins their day.

Obnoxiousest card: Rishadan Port



I love playing with Port... I hate playing against Port. See, Port is the kind of card you play when you hate Magic so much you want to ensure your opponent never plays it. If you take any kind of tempo advantage whatsoever, you get to force your opponent on the back foot perpetually, especially if you don't need to sink your own mana into developing a board state (looking at you, Aether Vial decks). Cut them off from mana? Check. Cut them off from the color they desperately need? Check. In some ways this card is worse than Wasteland -- at least destroying a land is one-and-done. Port always gets to snipe their most important land every turn, even if that land changes throughout the game. This got banned in Standard for a damn good reason. Good riddance.

Disappointest Card: Conspiracy



Whoooa! I can make any deck into a tribal deck? This card is just begging to get abused somehow. The ability to make every creature you have into the creature type you want seems like a pretty sweet deal. However, if you wanted every creature to be a certain creature type... why wouldn't you just make them all have that creature type before the game begins?

Don't get me wrong, the card does have its uses when you're trying to support a creature type that is sparse with members or when you want to have a way to cheat silly stuff into play using tribal mechanics. (Goblin Lackey giving me Emrakul for free? Wheeee!) But it's usually just a "why even bother" card because whatever it does, there's usually a more efficient way to do it.
