Like I said, I believe black people can and should be able to do things that everyone can(or in a liberal's case, what a white man can do). I also believe that all people should be treated equal regardless of skin, race, or sexuality.

I also believe that Black Lives Matter, and that we need right now police reform.(I was honestly surprised at how widespread the issue was across America, I thought it was only in a few certain areas like Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, etc.)

I wasn't trying to imply or say that the c word was equal in terms of "cultural or social dynamic as the n-word." as RC put it. I was saying that the c word was the derogatory term for white people. Much like how n-word is used as a derogatory term for black people, or how the word Karen could be used as a derogatory term for boomers, or entitled women. I either misused the word "equivalent" or you or everyone else misinterpreted it, or I just used the wrong word.

Am I missing a particular cultural aspect that is exclusive to the black community? Because I have probably never seen it.

EDIT: I have never been around a black community before. I have talked to black people IN my community(which is decently racially diverse, though their are still less black people than there are any other race. So I have not had the opportunity to see what black culture is like within a black community.

I don't do the N-word, aside from a incident on Xbox Live where a black person made me mad, and a few other times where I've said it in a joking manner in the presence of friends. Though at the time I was desensitized of the words meaning and the "emotional baggage" as Shadow put it, and the reason being was because there this guy who would say without such a care in the world, that I couldn't help but laugh. So hanging around him made me that way for a period of time.

But other than those few instances, I have hardly ever said it and I don't advocate for anyone to use the word. I'll go as far as to say "Please don't say that word" real loudly when I hear other people say it as well.

One time my grandfather was telling me a story about when he was a child during the days of segregation. He and his group of white friends would often fight/insult/engage in drama with these group of black kids. He and his group would call them the N-word, while the black group of friends would call him and his group "cracker".

Another part of the story that he told me was that when he was in the war in Vietnam, he and one the members of the black group that he encountered during his childhood(one that he despised for a particular reason) were riding in a military vehicle(either a truck or jeep of some sort). I don't remember what particularly happened, but the base that he was currently stationed at was under attack by the Northern Vietnamese, and an explosion occured near the vehicle that he was riding. I don't quite remember what he said what happened during that time, but that black man from his childhood covered his body with himself and saved his life at the cost of his.

About asking people if they are or consider themselves the white equivalent of the N-word :(. The reason why I posted this topic was because I saw a topic on 261 where someone asked what the white word equivalent for the N-word was, and someone said it was "Karen", but I responded with the actual equivalent of the word. Seeing as to how unknown the word was to even the white population. I decided to make a topic on PotD to see how many people actually had knowledge of word. I knew of the possibility of getting modded, but my point of view was that if I was white, then I should be allowed to call others their derogatory term without consequence much like how black people can call each other the N-word without consequence. So I wanted to see how people would respond to the word if they knew what it was.

But from what I saw from the responses, most people didn't care or even know what

The responses were about 50/50. Some people knew what it was, other people didn't. But for those that did, they weren't offended by it by any means.(at least from what I can remember, I closed the topic but it got taken down a few hours afterwards.)

But what I really did wrong was respond to @FatalAccident response to my topic. Which read "Nahh, I ain't black". To which I responded with "Well are you the other word?" without thinking. Because I subconsciously and unintentionally made that response as a social experiment to see that if any black people were asked that question. Would they respond with "No", or would they respond with a hateful and vengeful message. I wanted to see how a black person would respond to that. Because I know there are some black people who might not actually be offended by the N-word, but instead embrace the word and could and can use to describe other black people that way.
