I think thats a fair assessment. Ive never quite powered through eight and I picked up the PS1 discs when those came out so thats been on my backlog forever. I picked up the switch versions of all the series, including zodiac age to so the plan is to play through all of them. im going to have to deal with just ignoring the jump rope mini game at the beginning and finally played through nine. Thats as far as Ive ever gotten into that game and I picked that one up when it came out as well.

nice, ive been slowly doing replays of the whole series as well, while trying to get 100% achievements on steam. I made it through ff1-4 and then got part of the way into 5 and saved myself in a spot where i couldnt get the 100% achievements so i dropped it. Currently skipped ahead to ff7 with mods. The full voice acting mod is amazing. Im about to finish disc 1. I originally intended to play through the series in order, but got the itch to play ff7.

eh, imo the series got better with every single game all the way up until ff6, id say ff7 is about equal to ff6, then ff8 was a slight step back, probably somewhere between 4 and 5. Then 9 was nearly as good as 6 and 7

Seems like a tall order imo. They have maybe covered half of the original game in the first two titles(if even that much). Now they want to cram the entire second half into a single game? I hope they dont mess it up
