I actually used to allow ads on this site. I think I finally started blocking them around the point they started jamming them between topics. Or maybe it was between posts. It's been a long time, but I remember them at some point going from passive things on the side to disruptive content right in the middle of it all and that was when I stopped.

One of the tactics ogre games has you playing a character who is revealed in a post credits scene to be the villain from a different game and what we were playing was a stealth prequel/origin story for that villain.

As someone who only played commander, everything was being designed for commander was dumb. The fun part of commander was finding pieces in the sea of existing cards. When so much was designed with commander in mind, not just standard but even commander products, it completely warped too many formats for the worse.

There are some new fan formats out there worth trying if you're looking for something fresh. I recommend "Wacky races" where you attack a "finish line" by crewing vehicles and the first player to 10 "laps" wins.

Because everything is driven by crewing vehicles and blocking opponent attempts at getting a lap, you're back to that "classic" commander feel of trying random shit to see what works.

I've tried 1 2 3 and Pre-Sequel and I legit can't get into any of them. I just don't gel with it at all.

They're really much better in couch co-op, which unfortunately was completely scuffed at launch in BL3 and they never really fixed it. We're talking "the game drops to single digit framerates for a few seconds if either player opens their inventory" levels of bad.

They went all in with crossover packs because they sell well, so the game's identity has kind of been destroyed. There's something weird about sitting down for a game of magic the gathering only to watch starscream get played to attack Minsc and boo from baldur's gate, but the attack gets blocked by aragorn and a tyranid.

This has made playing standard more complicated since only a handful of the most recent sets are tournament legal, drastically accelerating the rate at which people who want to play competitively need to spend money.

Meanwhile, the commander format has more or less taken over casual play to the point where wizards is starting to focus more and more on cards that are appropriate for that set which is created a giant rift in the player base.

Then to top it all off, they got caught recently using AI generated art in there advertising on social media.

If you like the franchise I would say go check out the character builder (like this: https://bl3skills.com/) and see if any of the cast has a skillset you think you'd really enjoy. If you do, it's worth $9. If you don't, don't bother.

There's no "standard form", but if you write Fandom they are required to respond, under penalties of up to 10M euros or 2% of the entire company's yearly profit for failure to comply in a reasonable time. "Strictly necessary" cookies are always on by default. Those are the ones for login. What you're disabling are all the money-making cookies, like the ones that track which pages you're going to or are used to serve personalized ads.

The board is locked now. Only accounts not in purge who visited CE in the last year retained access. No new accounts will ever be able to visit CE, nor old accounts that haven't visited recently, nor accounts that were in purg at the time of the lock. Who you see in CE today is everyone who will ever be on CE going forward.

Part of the problem is that electricity is never perfectly insulated. Yes, people with obscene amounts of money that are heavily invested in oil are hindering the transition to renewable energy, but I also don't think a lot of people understand or appreciate the sheer volume of energy that the world needs generated and exactly how going fully renewable would make that possible when you can only transmit power so far from the source.

The two boards were always very similar. It's why most everyone from LUE moved here when that board got locked. But that was 20 years ago so even people that have been on CE for a long time might not remember what it was like back then.

Take the most chaotic day you can remember while browsing CE and imagine that every day was like that except there are so many people that a front page topic would fall to page 2 in less than a minute.

A lot of people claim my criticism of the game equate to "hate". It was lacking in rpg elements, being action is fine, but why does Trial of mana, a niche game remake got party members and not a high budget game.

Also the writing in the side quests late game was good, the gameplay part was incredibly boring in most side quests. Yakuza like a dragon and Infinite wealth have fairly simple side quests, but I don't remember getting bored in side quests. I was so disapointed when I got Cid and he was not playable. Cid, Joshua, Jill and Dion and maybe even nest bro Gav should have been playable characters

I think there's a lot of criticism that is valid, but in some cases I feel like people's memory of JRPGs doesn't really line up with the genre. For example: complaints around weapons and armor being "just stats bonuses." This is true, but in nearly every classic JRPG that's exactly what it always was. You reach the latest town and you go to the weapon/armor shop and you buy everything because it's newer than what you have and thus better. MAYBE some secret endgame weapons had special effects, but in general that's how it always was. So when people say "the weapons are just stat upgrades" in regard to 16 not being a "real" JRPG I'm just left wondering how when that's exactly how nearly every other JRPG does it.

Yesterday was the topic about making sure that you disable your tracking cookies. Today is about your right to be forgotten. If anybody else has any suggestions, my plan is to just keep posting things that aren't a TOS violation but are very explicitly against fandom's business in protest of all their dumbass decisions.

Tl;Dr - when you close your account if you live in the EU you have the right to demand that they permanently remove any and all personal information from their system. The link above explains how to fill out the digital form. Don't leave fandom a scrap of information that they can use to monetize.

I'm trying to figure out what would be helpful and also a protest against Fandom that isn't a TOS violation. I need to do some digging, but any EU members quitting may be able to fill out one of those "right to be forgotten" forms which would legally require Fandom to strip any content associated with your account from their system in its entirety. Not sure if it applies here, but it would be a nice way for users quitting to stick it to Fandom.

If your post isn't a speech-to-text translation of an ad fandom serves it may be moddable.
