To assuage everyone's concerns, those kind of descriptions are apparently quite common when doing casting calls. It's to prevent people from knowing just what the project is before it's been properly announced. If you look at them, they're actually accurate descriptions of the characters taken in the broadest sense, it's just the details that are wrong.

I wonder if part of it is that they would have to make a significant amount of brand new assets. RE2 and RE3 remakes were basically a two-for-one special and I know RE2 used at least a few things from RE7. Between the village, Castle Dimitrescu, and Heisenberg's Factory, they could probably just copy/paste 90% of RE8 into a RE4 remake. Rockfort Island and Antartica don't have much in common with any of those settings.

Also Alfred might just be a little...much for modern Capcom to want to try and deal with. Not to mention the weird pseudo-incest relationship he and Alexia had.

And yeah, this was a DC Universe show. I think it was the last thing that service put out before it died. I was worried it was going to be worse, but I'm a little optimistic after hearing about Superman and Lois.

A big part of the appeal is just how hard they lean into the Golden Age shlockiness. It's not as depressing or moody as most CW shows, it's a lot more optimistic.

I think part of it too is that Community occasionally talks about how Abed's autism negatively impacts his life. Like the episode where he makes the video about his family, it's made clear that Abed thinks his autism is the reason his parents divorced and he's never been able to talk about it for that same reason.

I haven't really watched BBT, so maybe I'm just talking outta my ass, but I don't think it ever really frames Sheldon's personality traits as a negative in any serious way. He's an asshole and that's funny, it never negatively impacts his relationships or upsets him.
