Ulti has not done a PCA for that contest. Someone else did it that year but they never uploaded the writeups to the last 15 or so matches to the wiki so multiple users had to fill in the blanks.No one made a writeup to Vincent/Crono/Samus/Pikachu for whatever reason.

So a result occured in the taping tonight for next week's (Christmas Day) Smackdown which has led to speculation on a certain superstar's future status. Do not click on the spoilers below if you don't wish to find out.

Rusev won the United States championship from Shinsuke Nakamura. Given how the latter was signed by WWE the exact same time as AJ/Anderson/Gallows, he's probably in contract renegoiations much like the others. I've noticed people online discussing the possibilities of him going back to New Japan, with the arguments against being that he's too beat up for that schedule anymore and that it would cost a lot of money for him to move back.

We all like Crash, but in his extensive contest history, he had two wins before this match. 2002 against Ulala (who?) and 2013 in a 3way against Wheatley and Elizabeth

Crash (barely) lost to Elizabeth in the second round. The other character in his 1st round win was Tommy Vercetti.

Picking Red to waltz all the way to Link, lose then win the rematch in my bracket was a really dumb move, in retrospect. My reasoning was his division seemed really weak (I didn't think Alucard was even going to beat Yuna, let alone hold up against Bowser) outside of Sora (who had lost to an LFF'ed Pikachu 5 years earlier), and went with the Cloud upset because he lost to Squirtle in 2013 and thought Final Fantasy would be weaker than ever.

After that, I went all in on POKEfear running rampant and Red getting bandwagon'ed to the final. >_>

That actually looks good, though we'll need to see how he looks in the trailer.

With that said, I have zero faith in that being the actual design in the movie and am still expecting the first trailer to reveal something as bad as the chipmunks or Yogi Bear.

Was Metroid ever a thing in Europe btw?

Can't speak for the rest of Europe, but my only exposure to anything Metroid related was Mother Brain in the Captain N show and it took until 2006 for me to discover Samus in the first place. When I first saw her in Super Smash Flash, I legitimately thought she was some sort of Xbox/Halo character.

Granted, I was too young for the SNES era and didn't grow up with the N64 outside of Mario 64, 1080, Banjo and Pokemon Stadium.

How did you watch the Captain N show but were too young for the SNES era...?

Re-runs? But I find it weird that show would be on years later.

I remember watching reruns on a Children's TV Channel sometime around the early 2000's.

December has always been the worst month in terms of wrestling. WWE basically waits until the new year to get the ball rolling for Royal Rumble, the biggest matches are set in stone for Wrestle Kingdom by November, and none of the other promotions do anything notable. This didn't used to be the case back when WCW was still around.

Also, I'm pretty certain if Mario vs Sonic were to ever happen on this site, Mario would just SFF him to the ground like Luigi did with Tails. That match probably was only close back in 2002-2004 before the Nintendo boost and the Sonic franchise became an absolute joke with too many bad 3D Sonic games. Now, I could be a 70-30 blowout.

In a way, I actually think Final Fantasy has been suffering the same problem in that the franchise has had so many misses over the past 15 years that it's catching up to all post-FF7 characters.

If only we could get that as a bonus match after the true contest final. I had an idea of getting some matches involving only the Noble Nine that have never happened in a 1v1 match. There's only 6 potential match combinations meeting those requirements.

Cloud/Mega Man
Crono/Samus
Crono/Sephiroth
Mario/Sonic
Mega Man/Samus
Sephiroth/Sonic

That's all of the remaining Noble Nine match-ups which have not happened in a 1v1 match. If we were to run multiple bonus matches at the same time, I assume Allen would avoid using the same character in more than one match. Which limits us to a maximum of 3 matches running at the same time. My personal picks are Cloud/Mega Man, Crono/Sephiroth, and Mario/Sonic.

Wow Mario/Sonic has never happened?

The closest we got to it was Mario vs Shadow 2003, Super Mario World vs Sonic 2 2004, and Mario/Bowser vs Sonic/Eggman 2011. They have almost always been on opposite sides of the bracket so the closest we ever came to actually having the match finally happen was this year (Sonic needed to beat Zelda in order to face Mario)

4 of the 6 matches listed above technically happened in the fourway contests (Cloud/Mega Man and Mega Man/Samus in 2007, Crono/Samus and Sephiroth/Sonic in 2008).

Crono/Sephiroth is the only combination that we've never seen in a contest match. The closest we had to getting that match was 2003 (where Mario beat Crono the round before) and 2010 (where Missingno happened).

That Snake pic wouldn't really be so bad if his head was in the center of the pic where you could see Snake's face when viewing by mobile. I more blame Allen on slecting it and how strict he can be at times sticking to a pic format than Ulti (though he should've known better and considered how match pics would look on phones given how long he's been picsmithing).

Last few days were busy for me. Sorry for the late showing, guys. Here's a quick write-up;

I think we can all agree Link's easily winning this match. He has beaten his performances on Cloud in each successive match they have had together. I don't think he'll goes as far as beat his 2011 performance (I blame that on bad contest), but it'll be between that and 2010. If he does, that really says a lot about the Square decline, and for good reason. That company stopped been on the downswing since the two Kingdom Hearts titles.

I'm actually don't think Cloud even beats Mario and Samus anymore, so it'll be interesting to see how he performs in the losers bracket.
