Think Apollo, Athena, Blackquill and Fulbright carry this case hard. Damian and L'Belle are serviceable defendants and culprits respectively.

I thought for a first case it was alright, especially as a case to get the series back on track after the two awful games prior (not counting AAI2).

So only Aston Villa remains in Europe after the quarter finals and even they needed penalties to advance.

Is it possible that there was a poll queued up but then got taken down ahead of time because it was seen as "too politcal" and they never replaced it?

If there is one AAI case everyone needs to play/watch, this is the one. You really don't need the context of the prior cases to enjoy this one.

Sounds like Rhea is going to be out for a while and might be vacating the title tonight on RAW.

Weakest case in the game, and I second that Courtney and Debeste got better in later cases. But it has enough things I like about it to keep it from getting a low score.

Sounds like arsenal supporters didn't have a good ebening.

(Also LOLverpool. Man United really did break them.)

Logic Chess was their attempt of giving Edgeworth his own unique "Psyche Locks" feature and it wasn't as effective.

One case in and AAI2 already has a better case than all of AAI1's cases combined.

It does have a few good moments but the case as a whole goes on for far too long and is generally pretty boring to boot.

This game and Apollo Justice did a great job of killing my interest in the series for years.

Stopped playing at the first save break because the game just wasn't interesting enough to play by this point, though most of the blame is on the first three cases for being just so poor that this case really needed to be at 2-4 levels in order for me to keep playing. It wasn't and I knew there was another case after this so I never went back to play this or the last case, but I did watch a play-through on Youtube of these cases years later. Don't like the way Edgeworth is portrayed here given this was before his face turn years later and it doesn't fit his character at this stage in the timeline, but otherwise this is the best case of the game, which... Isn't a high bar set.

West Ham also lost away to Bayer Leverkusen 2-0. Tottenham and Aston Villa may actually need to fight for 4th in order to secure Champions League next season.

This case alongside the previous case straight up killed my investment in the game and I stopped playing very early into the fourth case as a result.

The worst of the Investigations cases and one of the five (if not three) worst cases in the whole franchise. Bad case in a setting that squandered its potential, unlikable or bland characters, Franziska felt shoehorned in, and should have been either completely rewritten or scrapped during development. I seem to recall being angry after first playing E1-2 due to how bad it was. The fact that we still haven't been introduced to our rival or "obligatory young female" assistant of the game two cases in when every other game in the series has already done so (or at least one of them) is also insulting. And no, things don't get much better when they do both show up in the following case.

This would have also gotten a 1 from me if there were not a few individual moments or concepts that I enjoyed or was intrigued by respectively. Apollo feeling so irrelevant in his own game, especially in this final case, and being effectively used as a pawn throughout sucks. Thank goodness DD and SOJ existed to give him something. People have already mentioned the issues with the writing for certain characters so I won't regurgitate it, and the MASON system feels like a chore to play through. I don't hate Spark Brushel as much as I used to, but I hated his Perceive tell. There are a lot of characters that could have been (or WERE) cool heading into this case, yet Zak, Kristoph and even Klavier might have become some of my least favorite characters in the series that weren't bit characters for one case. Oh, and Hobonix rigging the trial to get his desired result. There's a reason this franchise almost died and that some people never played past this point in the series, and this game is one of two big reasons for it.

I will admit that the jurist system reveal to Kristoph and his breakdown on its own is awesome and his breakdown is one of my favorites in the entire series.

The 1 2 punch of these two back to back was rough. Can't actually rate the rest of Apollo Justice because I couldn't continue.

I only continued onto 4-4 because I knew it was the last case and was willing to power on. I could not say the same about Investigations.

The games DO get better after Apollo Justice and Investigations 1, but I don't fault anyone for giving up on the series after going through both games. I personally do recommend Dual Destinies regardless whether you played all 4 cases of AJ because that game is sort of a very soft reboot to get things back on track and you don't need the knowledge of even 4-1 to actually enjoy DD, anyway.

This is the worst case of the entire series. Fundamentally broken logic, Badly designed from a game play perspective, a chore to play through the trial segments which are supposed to be Ace Attorney's best bits, and the case exists as an excuse to introduce the jury system in 4-4.

Not as good as some make it out to be, but the ending is great.

6. The culprit is fun (especially when taking the stand), and the exchanges between Phoenix, Maya, Godot and the Judge are all great (especially in second Trial day), but the case doesn't really pick up until the second investigation day.

7, Great introduction to the main prosecutor/rival of the game in Godot, interesting scenario to start with the defendant being accused of theft only later to be later accused of the standard murder upon the realization there's more to the case than originally was, and a good culprit to take down. Is hurt slightly by some of the side characters in the case not being particularly stellar or memorable.

2. This is easily the worst case of the original trilogy and would've been the worst outright had two later games not put out even worse cases.

2-2 gets a 6 from me.

Funny how both of my wrestling noms ended up being my highest nom for each ranking.

I figured The Game would fall around here since there isn't a lot of points it could get for the first two categories. I did consider nominating King of Kings instead, but I think that would have done worse. And Line in the Sand didn't feel to me that it would do as well either.

As for When You're Evil, agreed that it doesn't rank high up in actual villainy in the way other songs do, but I thought it could've gotten a little higher in the characterization area. Guess not.

No problem with both songs falling at the same time, btw. That just happens.
