Also consider that the path to professional soccer for promising young Americans was a disaster in country, and only recently did Americans start instituting something that would resemble academies. Even though our best athletes end up wanting to play other sports, we should still have better developed soccer players than we have. I think in another decade this will start showing up, and the next Freddy Adu won't spend years not being able to practice and develop. And once we do have the one international class star develop and sign a big contract, that's going to get a lot of people playing soccer.

I'm talking about more than just the last one

But I think I'm going to watch the second game of this grouping.

But really though lol US Soccer league. We barely have enough people to make a single national team that can put up a fight. The US is *slowly* becoming more accepting of the sport, but its still going to take more time.

The worst EPL team would most likely demolish the MLS champion with ease.

African teams are probably the most annoying just because from my world cup experience, dear lord these people do not stop diving ever.

MLS has little money and no prestige. They've done a great job growing the league, as the sport becomes more popular, more Americans will put money into it, and it will be more profitable to play here.

MLS games aren't that bad, obviously a step down in talent overall and like 3 steps down in offensive genius. I imagine the ball spends roughly the same amount of time being possessed and dispossessed in the middle chunk of the field in either league, it's just that the scoring chances aren't as nifty (and they don't need to be to score in MLS) and the stakes are low. If you only watch the most prestigious games and teams in the world, MLS probably won't be as intense as you are used to. Superliga can be pretty nifty, I feel like that is when MLS teams seem to be at their best.

I don't think the Galaxy would be the worst team in the EPL.

The MLS schedule is kinda crappy.

Now we can get the "Vita experience" with all console games, but with worse controls.

I mean the parts of games that have any real value being on a tablet, like reading through some lore, looking around maps, maybe inventory management, drawing stuff (custom Madden plays etc). Anything else from consoles really just belongs on the TV screen, and I don't think they will try to throttle games by what they can stream to an app.

I would be surprised if that wasn't the case tbh. You could out of E3 knowing that Nintendo is staking their 2012 console fortunes on NintendoLand. That's a big deal. The other options are "yet another floaty 2D Mario" and Pikmin. Mario will sell millions and Pikmin might sell 1 million, so not small potatoes, but it's stuff we've played before.

I was thinking about the comments about MS leaving Sony behind a bit. I think this generation was a very intriguing one in terms of what the market really looks like. MS going after America, Nintendo going after moms, Sony slowly soaking up the rest. Vita seems to be grabbing western style games, but I don't think that's a strong market for a handheld in America or Japan.

Didn't really care about much. They did a good job with what they wanted to accomplish. They're a year away from having to do anything besides "Halo 4".

Sony:
I was pumped for AC3 but the boat thing didn't really do it for me.

I don't think Last of Us was demo'd that well. Just seemed like we wander into buildings and murder people for ammo? I was expecting something thrilling, maybe emotional, definitely atmospheric.

Once I saw them start the Wonderbook thing, I thought they might have something cool and thought hey, maybe my daughter would like that in a few years. But then... well. don't really need to say much here.

God of War looked how you'd expect and that's fine by me!

While they've obviously tried to put some effort into getting spinoffs onto the Vita, they really didn't seem to have a solid, cohesive Vita push. Maybe they figure it'll eventually sell some hardware and they'll just cash in on the memory cards as time goes on... I dunno.

I think people are mixed in terms of "want" re: Thomas, his salary cap hit, Rask, Savard's situation, and the need for a stud offensive player. The current sports radio take is that he and Rask share the same agent, so Thomas will play (and get traded to a team he wants) and Rask will get paid as a RFA before the CBA is up. I think Savard is the guy who gets screwed in every situation that Thomas has forced.
