Id have more pity on a guy in prison for assualting a dude that say groped his girlfriend then I would a guy who clobbered someone either for no good reason or in the process of another crime. But some jobs are far less than what I had daily chores as a teen. Committing a crime and not getting caught would be nerve wracking enough since you never know if the police will get a new lead, but knowing they know and can prove it was you would feel awful. This guy did get the plane to cross the canadian border before jumpintlg iirc. On the other thing some guys did escape Alcatraz. Not mob bosses but while belived most likely dead for a long time evidence now suggests they survived and one lived only a short distance from alcatrez. Taco Bell is one of the first things to jump to mind. McDonald's is perhaps another choice, but then I'd need specialized equipment like a deep fryer. A lot of the 18 year olds they get are teens just out of high school, didn't do well in high school, don't put much thought into college or anything else and just say "well, might as well do this"...even 20 would be good. Gives them a good two years post high school to potentially gain some work experience, think it through and make a more educated decision as opposed to instantly saying "Yea i was an average C student all throughout HS i'm on my way to enlist" immediately after graduation. Of course that will never happen because its hard enough for them to get enrollments as it is...might as well take advantage of the vulnerable members of the graduating class every summer.
