But I'm glad the company itself is doing so poorly. The one thing halliburton does right is train people. The phrase halliburton trains the oilfield is tossed around a lot and is accurate. It is a lot of people's first oilfield job because of their high turnover rate. They always need people because they treat their people like shit. If the people laid off want to stay in the industry they will find plenty of opportunities at companies that will actually treat them like human beings. For perspective halliburton was my first grown up job. In the lab. Loved my team and my boss. Learned a hell of a lot both about actual science and also the real world. But the company as a whole is terrible. My boss worked there 30 years because they have great benefits and pay. But he hated the company itself the whole time he worked for them.
