I have 12 hours of coverage, but if there is nothing to do I can leave and come back as needed. Don't get paid during times when I'm not there, but I make enough most of the time that it doesn't matter if I don't work all my hours. At a previous job doing the same work it was 12 hour shifts,hours were mandatory.
