You're on point, but I absolutely would go for the first one because it would be something different. The novelty would intrigue me enough to get me to try a box where the endless variants of colorful packaging wouldn't stand out to me at all.

TopicHow a brave student bested and saved an atheist professor
marthsheretoo

This reminds me of the time I took intro to philosophy in college my freshman year.

The semester had just begun, and Philosophy 111 had a room full of students. The professor stood up and began to speak: "Welcome to Philosophy 111, I just have one question for the class... do you believe in God? If you do, then raise your hand."

Many hands were raised across the room, the majority of the class did in fact believe in God.

"Well then, let's see how strong your belief really is..." said the professor. "If you keep your hand raised, you will receive an F in this class." In an instant hundreds of hands lowered across the room. The professor, pleased with himself, slowly turned his head to look at each section of students.

"That's what I thought," he said with a smirk. In fact the professor had gone through this same exercise at the start of every semester, and without fail he always got the entire class to lower their hands, denying their belief in God.

But as the professor was finished turning his head, he saw one student in the front row with his hand still raised. The professor was shocked, but he knew exactly how to handle this. He marched right up to the student, and said with a scowl on his face, "So... you believe in God."

"That's right," said you student.

"But you will receive an F in this class. Doesn't that matter to you?"

"Not at all," said the student. "If I am ashamed of God, he will be ashamed of me when I stand before him after I die."

"So..." said the professor, "you believe in an afterlife?"

"Yes," said the student.

"And you believe that following God will get you into this afterlife?"

"Yes."

The professor grew angry. "Well then, I suppose you have some proof that this God of yours exists."

"I do," said the student. He reached into his backpack and grabbed a book. He stood up and held the book in front of him, displaying it across the room for the whole class to see. "This," he said, "is the Holy Bible. It is the written word of God. In it is everything you just asked about and much more. It is the proof you're looking for."

The professor was visibly shaken. He tried to make a clever response to the student, but he couldn't. It was as if God himself was holding his tongue.

The student turned to the class and said, "if you believe in God raise your hand high in the air!" And the entire class stood up and raised their hands as high as they could.

Then the student walked up to the professor, who was on his knees with tears falling from his eyes. "Don't worry about your past," said the student. "Your sins can be forgiven, and God has a place for you in his kingdom." The student reached his hand out to the professor.

The professor looked up in awe. He grabbed the student's hand, and stood up. Right then and there, the professor was a new man. The class applauded.

From that day forward, Philosophy 111 became a Bible Study Group and every student became closer to God.

It's not a points system. You don't trip the point of no return gay foobar by watching porn

But you do by having sex, evidently.
The purpose of these questions is to figure out where that line is for you. So porn doesn't do it for you, and maybe you think a blow/handjob is more of a gray area?

I don't really understand why you decided I thought people who watched gay porn were gay since I have, from the beginning, taken issue with the idea that actions define sexuality in general. Whether having sex or watching porn, both are equally ridiculous to me.

UnfairRepresent posted...
Questions he was stating as an argument for why married men with kids are actually bisexuals. Don't play silly.

Married men with kids can certainly be bisexual. That doesn't mean they all are, or even that most of them are. I know a few bi guys who only date women due to the societal judgment that comes with being in a relationship with another man.

Come to think of it, let's think about a gay man in rural 1960s south who, out of fear for his own life, feigns straightness, marries a woman, and fathers kids in order to blend in. However, he doesn't enjoy the sex, in fact, he hates it, and constantly fantasizes about sleeping with men (though he has never been brave enough to risk it). I feel like by your classification, this man would be straight. I say he wouldn't even be bi, he would be straight-up gay.

Am I misrepresenting your position?

I don't.

I don't follow where you lose the sex part of Bisexual.

To you she's not bi, porn stars who do bisexual scenes aren't bi.

But a happily married man with 14 kids, who only slept with one girl his entire life is bi if he saw gay porn a couple of times...

Come on man, this isn't that complex.

Another post, another distortion.

Let me be perfectly clear, Unfair:

The only stance I have definitively taken in this thread is that bisexual people are allowed to call themselves bisexual whether they have had sex with both a man and a woman or not.

You have accused me of taking a number of stances entirely unrelated to this very simple premise, and in fact, have stated that I am approaching sexuality from a more cut-and-dried position than you are when you are the one trying to put additional limitations on the label of bisexuality. These stances are a product of either your own imagination, or poor reading comprehension on your part.

If you were as committed to honest debate as you claim, you would not muddy the waters with these additional accusations or set up strawmen to tear down. You would not avoid questions and do the bare minimum to keep the argument going, but would engage thoughtfully with the issues presented.

EDIT: Wait, no. Boy, have we gotten off track. The other stance I took, the original one, is that poly people can be married and still poly. Which is tangentially related to the bisexuality question, and just as obviously right.

True. But by your logic, these people would be bi since they have had a relationship with both a girl and a guy.

UnfairRepresent posted...
Or alternatively a lot of bi people thought they were gay or straight until they met one specific person who there were attracted too, rather than a whole sex.

So a man who marries 1 girl and has 6 kids and never f***s anyone else ever in their life is Bi to you?

Dude

It depends on whether or not he's attracted to guys as well.

How is something so simple beyond your ability to understand?

So going by your logic, someone needs to have sex with at least one guy and at least one girl to be bi.

A man has sex for the first time with another man. Would you say he was gay until he had sex with a woman, then all of a sudden he's bi? Before he had sex with that man, would you say he was asexual? What if this man has been attracted to women since puberty, never got the opportunity to sleep with one, then got drunk one night with his best friend and they ended up having sex? This is still a gay man to you? One who can "become" bi by sleeping with a woman?

Even for you, this is disappointing logic.

Well for starters, they didn't put together an overarching plan for the ST and instead just let directors make stuff up as they went along, leaving the plot to be a disjointed mess.

They allowed aggressively mediocre creative endeavors through their quality control, like Wendig's trilogy, Rebels, and episodes 8/9.

And... nah, that mostly covers it, I think. I still have Solo tickets for opening night (anthology spinoffs are 1-for-1 so far, quality-wise) and the more I hear about the theme park, the more I want to spend all my savings there. And at least their movies are better than the prequels (can't say that about Aftermath tho. Bleh).

Not right now.

Later, once I have money, sure. I'd do it for a day or two.

Except that I actually enjoy eating rich, decadent food.

I'd say the better metaphor for Gogg's writing is a straight-up stick of butter.

They are enacting a law I believe this year that basically makes esas horse s*** and people will actually have to register service animals with actual ID.

That's too bad. My girlfriend really needs her ESA but I doubt he'll qualify as a service animal.

Hotel sex is the best sex. There's something about hotels that make sex better.

The knowledge that you don't have to clean up the mess you're about to make and the people in the rooms around you just gotta grit their teeth through your multi-hour fuck session.

I'll have sex with my girlfriend if our schedules intersect, and I scheduled a block of time with my mistress where we can bang like wildcats. So odds are looking good.
