North Korea might be a better example in terms of weird fucked up dictatorships. In some ways North Korea is worse but at the same time Hitler actually ran a country that was capable of invading the rest of Europe and causing a second world war so there's that >_>

Yet if the numbers were skewed the opposite way, you'd all be frothing at the mouth, just like you're doing now for someone merely pointing out the reported numbers were false.

So if you agree the numbers werent faked and you still believe Covid is as bad as it is then why make this topic? Was it just to say that point out hypocrisy? I doubt it since you didnt bring it up when you made the topic.

When Trump puts out misinformation or lies he's literally Hitler.

But when false reports are presented to the public that make liberals look bad, it's a bunch of excuses and rationalizations for why it's okay.

It's amusing yet sad to see.

It isnt ok. However, errors can happen in reports. Its not excusable but at least it is plausible. The lies Trump says are blatant. He never apologies are admits his lies. Plus, they are harmful to the country yet he keeps doing them at an alarming rate. He lost all credibility a long time ago. Maybe if he lied rarely then maybe people wouldnt hate him as much as they do now

Im confused here. Statewide positivity rate is 11%. They said there is some errors in Orlando with an insane positivity rate in 80% range. How exactly would fixing these small area rates greatly reduce the overall positive rates? 6% and 9.4% makes sense and it lines up with the overall 11%. If the majority of places in Florida had insane positivity rates then the number would be much higher than 11%. Taking a few outliers to say all the numbers in Florida are fake seems disingenuous

Not when both your names are on the home and both your names are on other finances. Shared your life with someone is irrelevant. That shouldnt factor into it. If it did then dating someone for 5 years without living together then breaking up would be irresponsible when it isnt. No need for emotions to be involved.

Because that's how a responsible society operates. It's like having a kid and then saying "well what the fuck I didn't want this kid so I'm out of here" and leave the other partner holding the bag. That's why you've got deadbeat dad laws etc.

That isnt a good comparison though. A child cant support themselves. So naturally there should be laws that have it where you cant just walk out on a child.

Walking out on a grown adult because things arent working isnt abuse or being irresponsible. The partner would probably have to move to somewhere cheaper and change their life some but that is it. That goes both ways. Just like having a roommate that you split the bills with. If there was a child involved then nothing much changes because their is child support.

I just dont comprehend how having that choice is a bad thing

I just got off work tonight and I had an interaction with a co-worker that has been.. bothering me? I guess thats the term Ill use. Nothing bad or disrespectful happened here.

I live in a rural town in Georgia. I was talking with one of my co-workers about the George Floyd updates. We are both Black. I feel this is relevant. We are talking pretty quiet about it because living in this area.. it just feels.. safer? for us to not be publicizing our opinions on race in general. That could be the wrong idea. Maybe its a fear in the back of my mind. Not sure.

Anyway, a white coworker heard us talking and she asked us if we mind telling her our opinion on whats happening. We looked at each other for a second... then I told her we have mix feelings about the whole thing. (Which is true) I didnt elaborate and I feel that she wanted more details.

How would you feel if that little scenario happened to you? I kinda feel bad thinking back on it. Maybe I made the wrong decision. Maybe that was the time to give details about how we felt. Im not sure. I dont even know if keeping something like that vague bothers her. What are your thoughts?

Maybe? His perspective was that he is paying all this money in child support, which he is OK with, but he can never see his child. He said he hasnt done anything wrong to not be allowed to see his child but he only sees her like once every few months or so. He also said he has heard similar stories from others so... yea.
