This is insanely incomplete. Could what you day be true? Sure. Is it either or? No. Unless you count coworkers as part of that circle. Family as well. I can rely on my friends that a true friends, the ones behind being an acquaintance. (Some people consider me their friend when Im more of an acquaintance than anything)

Speaking on family, I cant rely on most of my family and if isnt like I can cut them off because of that. So they will be in my circle.

Things just got super stressful. Its kinda crazy since all 3 of us worked at the hospital but in different areas. My brother did something really dumb. He has been late to work a few times, probably more than a few, and convinced his baby mama to clock him in while he wasnt at work several times. The hospital caught this on camera and gave the option to resign so it wont go on their records if they are terminated. So they resigned. Since they resign, that means no unemployment.

Now we have bills to pay on my weaker pay check. Another thing, my brother was not only helping me pay the bills at our house, he was helping the baby mama pay bills at her house. Now all of that is gone. To top it off, my brother blown through his PTO time so he will only get paid about 27 hours of PTO.

I guess their are only a couple of things that are good news. First is that my brother has a very strong resume for a job that seems to be in decent demand. Since he resigned at least they wont know he was stealing time.

The second thing is that, unlikely my brother, I tend to highly prepare. I make less than he does but Im very cautious. I actually have plenty of money saved just in case of an emergency after I experienced running out of money when I got my hours cut at my previous job. In terms of our bills, not including the baby mama which I dont care for, I can hold us over for probably about 6 months. However, I REALLY dont want to do that.

Another major issue is that we just moved a friend of my brother into our house who recently lost their job. So now I have 2 people who live with me without a job who I have to probably support. My brother said he will take out a loan to pay the bills but who knows how that will turn out. The situation is VERY shitty. I cant imagine how things would be if I didnt prepare at all. We would be totally screwed

So I didnt really have much to eat for dinner tonight so I just cooked some eggs. I happen to actually glance at the calories per egg and.... WTF? 60 calories per egg?! Thats nuts! That is crazy low! Eggs are pretty filling too!

I decided to look up the calories of 1 slice of a large pizza. I just picked Dominos and did the most generic pizza you can think of. A large, hand toss pepperoni pizza. 1 slice = 280 calories. How many eggs gets close to that? Well 5 eggs = 300 calories.

FIVE! 5 eggs vs 1 slice of pizza?! Its not even close! 5 eggs is a meal! 1 slice of pizza is a snack! Any other hidden low calorie gems you know about CE that arent vegetables?

So, what I am getting at is that you're calling yourself rather introverted then? If so, that doesn't necessarily mean you can't get into a relationship, but it definitely is going to be harder for you to find someone who shares your same sentiment because they're likely to put themselves out there available. It's a never ending problem, but it just means you just have to put in more effort.

I figured as much. I guess that will happen whenever I decide I want to put the effort in to get into a relationship

This isnt what you think it is. Im not married and I have no desire to be married. Im not in a relationship either and I also currently am not trying, or have a desire, to get into one. This can obviously change in the future.

Im currently at work training someone and Im definitely an Introvert. The longer I spend with this person, the more tired and frustrated I become. Ive been reading more and more on the subject to educate myself. This also is making me more self aware of my energy levels and the like. Im realizing that I need a crazy amount of alone time to recharge and my battery drains quick. Im like one of those older iPhones that had a shit battery that ended up dying fast and taking a while to charge.

Like I said, I currently have no interest in being in a relationship but if I did want to be in one, I dont think I can pull it off. I would have to be alone a very long time everyday and that probably wont work out.

Its weird. Its currently not a significant problem for me but it might be a major problem if I develop a desire to be in a relationship

This. It wouldnt be that big of a deal of everyone is just moving along with the expectation of not really interacting with everyone. If there is an expectation of interacting with everyone in a large group... yea... I would rather be bored at hone alone

By a lot of people Im talking like 20+. Like a party or something.

A couple of my friends said I was crazy for rather being alone and bored. A couple of my fiends were talking about how they wish they can go back to going out in groups again but the pandemic prevents them. They know I dont like going out in large groups so its not a surprise I dont prefer it. They were surprised that I would rather be alone and bored over it though.

What about you CE?

EDIT: Also, the entertained section requires a strong amount of social interaction. Not watching a movie or something

Emotions just hold people back the vast majority of the time. It clouds your mind from logical. It paralyzes your from doing what you know you have to do. They are far more of a detriment in life than a benefit.

Holidays should be when other people make a lot of good food, for free. That's what they are for me.

I tend to work most holidays so I miss out on that often. Now that I think about it, I dont really like Christmas either. Unlike Halloween, I have a very specific memory that makes me hate Christmas I wish I could repress. It was my first year in college and I was extremely depressed at the time. My dad got me a gift and I tried to be more cheerful on Christmas and said something negative as a joke about it. My tone didnt match my intent and he thought I was serious. That look on his face of sadness and disappointment after that... I feel like that will haunt me for the rest of my life. I thought I would have forgot about it by now but I only think about that moment every Christmas for the past decade plus since.

I did when I was a kid but now? Nope. Im either indifferent on some or I dont really care for others. The only one I actually hate is Halloween but I always hated Halloween since I was a kid. Outside of that? Every holiday to me is like another day or slightly annoying. Even my birthday is just another day to me. Ive forgot a few times that it was my birthday until someone tells me.

I really thought about this when a few people asked me what my New Years resolution was. I dont have one. In fact, I didnt even consider it. I remember working on New Years Day, coming home and going to sleep without giving it much thought outside of a few of my neighbors kids shooting off firecrackers when I got home.

you actually might not want to put in 100% because of the diminishing returns on effort. the pareto principle suggests that 80% of your results will come from 20% of your effort. so dont give it your all!

How do you know you hit 80% or 100%? That is a question that I dont think anyone can answer. Might as well try what you consider 100% which would probably end up being that 80% you are talking about

Ive been on a path to improve my life. Ive been thinking critically about myself and this just hit me. I dont think Ive ever REALLY gave it my all to accomplish something. I would either accomplish it with less than 100% effort or I would give up on it without really going all out.

Im in my 30s and its crazy for me to think about how I always give subpar effort. Even in things I really cared about, I ne we fully tried.

How common is this? Am I just a lazy guy who doesnt try my hardest or is it rare for people to go 100%? If you did, what did it feel like to accomplish that goal?

Once youve accepted it and embraced it it can be quite nice and liberating. Especially if youre able to convey to people you arent being a dick and just are they way .

Issue is that you still have to put yourself into situations that are difficult. Like Im an introvert but do IT consulting and have to go to client sites etc and some days I just really cant cope and am a complete mess. Some days I can fake it pretty well but anxiety also plays a part and if stuff starts doing south internally Im a fucking mess.

I know that feeling. I was asked to speak at my mothers 60th birthday party on the fly. Lets say it went VERY poorly. What I said was very... meh. I felt like I was going to pass out and I was shaking so bad it sounded like I was on the verge of tears when I wasnt.

Im kinda like that? Its weird. I do have a decent amount of friends. About 7. However, we are spread across the US. Plenty of reasons for that. Jobs, college, family moved, etc. Where I am now? Almost no one in my area. However, I feel that gaming has REALLY helped with this. We can connect and play games together anywhere. I also tend to meet new people online that are friends of friends.

I guess its a good thing Im into shooters which ends up having me inadvertently meeting new people who become decent friends with online. It takes years of constant interaction with people like that for me to consider them a close friend and not an acquaintance.

This. I dont like to rely on other people. I also dont like bothering others with my problems. Ill either look up how to solve them or Ill ask a forum, like Gamefaqs, on how to solve a problem. This is different because you can ignore it if it doesnt interest you so I at least know your response was out of interest in some way

Hate it. Wish I could go out and socialize consistently without needing to take days off to myself. It really does get exhausting.

I guess I would too but I really enjoy my alone time too. I guess an Ambivert would be perfect for this problem and everyone in general. However, if I had to pick between struggling to talk to people for a long time and enjoy being alone vs it being easy to talk to people for along time but struggle to be alone... I would take the former. The ability to be at peace with yourself while being alone is an important life skill IMO.

I think Im weird when it comes to this opinion. Im definitely an introvert for sure however, I really like being one. I think I might be in the minority with this. I enjoy the quiet life and Im not ever really thinking about how I wish I was more outgoing. Sure it would open more doors but it will also create more problems for me. I can appear to be more outgoing if the situation calls for it. However, I dont ever wish I could always be that person.

My friends keep trying to change me. They want me to be more out going, meet other people, actively try to get a girlfriend/wife, etc. Naw. Im good. If I find a woman I really care about and she cares about me then sure. If not? Oh well. Im happy with being alone.

My friends really are concerned because Ive been really trying to better myself as a person in all aspects. They think Im doing it to attract someone but in reality Im doing it for myself so its kinda weird.
