have you considered wearing a facemask when you go out? I have pollen allergies (though it sounds like not as bad as yours) and the whole mask thing during covid actually helped a lot with it

The devs would have been forced to alter the game so it's easier for people who refused to get better at it.

in all honesty, an easy mode would probably have been better at preserving the game experience for the people who want a difficult game.

compare to souls-adjacent games that don't have an easy mode like elden ring, AC6, lies of P, etc. which launched with difficult bosses but received nerfs in patches. maybe if there was an easy mode they could have quarantined the changes to there

Humanity is largely represented by a specific coalition, and a massive chunk of the alien population doesn't realize that the coalition only represents like <10 countries.

this is the way I see it most likely going down. presenting a front of being unified under a single organization/entity/whatever when in actuality if anyone looks closer they'll immdiately realize that's not the case at all.

Like, in some sense there already is a "earth government" that would "represent all humans" in a galactic context. The united nations. nearly every country is part of it

I did either an IQ test or some other similar sort of test before grade1 and ended up in the gifted program because of it, no idea what actual number or anything that relates to, though

I can sorta see why since I tend to pick up the basics of pretty much anything faster than most people I know, but I also have basically 0 work ethic or concentration ability so it doesn't really help that much in the longrun

How long would you say it takes to get things figured out?

It's been a long time since I played and I really don't remember + it depends a lot on your level of perceptiveness. I suspect it probably took me around 15 hours to beat the game? (there's multiple endings, by beating the game I just mean getting something that wasn't dying)

Thing is, even if you die a few times it's not so bad? Like, you start out the game as some dude, you research weird lore, find various things exploring the city, found a cult, meet some people... and probably eventually die (it's not impossible to win first playthrough but seems unlikely). But then when you start again, you're a different person, who has a different job, so the actions available to you are different, and while you eventually do all those things listed above the progession of the story is different, you probably end up founding a cult worshipping something other than last time, you have different acquaintances, etc etc. So you're not just getting beaten up with nothing to gain from it.

Personally, I think the game does a really good job making you feel like some cultist/conspiracy theorist as you accumulate more and more threads of knowledge while trying to figure out how they all come together. for example it's not even clear how you win the game at all until a decent ways in. but because of this style I'd caution away from directly looking up too much stuff since a lot of tthe game is about the discovery. Oh, and the writing, the game's also about the writing just being extremely satisfying to read on a moment-to-moment basis

I came in here to suggest cultist simulator

I'm not sure if I'd call it super difficult. It's easy to die in unexpected ways your first few attempts but usually once you figure out an aspect of the gameplay that aspect will never trouble you again. Just gotta experiment with things and look for different solutions

I always felt like the gamecube pokemon games were really slowpaced. everything being a double-battle + everything having long drawn out animations means just a little gauntlet of 2-3 trainers feels like an endless slog

shadow pokemon are sort of lame too.

but otherwise I really like the variety of them from the main games. the limited team selection is a genius way to make you use weird pokemon

from this bundle, I very strongly recommend playing a monster's expedition. one of the best puzzle games I've ever played and probably THE best at hiding secret bonus solutions to puzzles right under your nose. basically every single puzzle in the game is actually two (or 3, or 4) puzzles at once

edit: in case this sounds too intimidating, I think the game is quite approachable for a basic clear and finding some of the bonus areas. 100%ing it will probably be 30+ hours though

I'm really curious what sorts of ways you see people misuse "skill ceiling". Since I basically never see anyone use it, correctly or not

Nah, Mario has WAY too much momentum in 64.

the momentum in mario 64 is part of what makes its movement so good. compare its walljumps to the extremely depressing ones in odyssey, or how nice it feels to chain longjumps compared to how they are in galaxy

They do still appear in search, it's how I found a video to take that screenshot. Wouldn't be surprised if they're search de-prioritized, though. They also do still earn ad revenue, but probably not as much because many advertisers do not like to appear near that sort of content.

I agree they don't do a very good job seperating it. In theory, the uploader is supposed to mark their video as 18+ when uploading, there's a little section in the upload form for it. But it's easy to miss by accident and also you're incentivized not to do it since it basically only has negatives for you as an uploader. They have some sort of system trying to catch videos that are not marked by the uploader but just a few searches or a bit of browsing youtube show that it's not very effective

Youtube does have least some level of sensitive content age walling, though it's not applied to that many things. it's a prompt that says it contains suggestive content or whatever and asks if you're okay viewing it, and also requires you to be logged into an account to see it

edit: ok slightly misremembered what it says. but it is, without a doubt, an age gate
