Its main selling points are being simple/more compact, and being able to download videos. The first three minutes after I opened it were spent giving my phone number, linking Google account, and granting several other various permissions. Then I clicked on about eight different videos, and they all said they were unavailable for download.

I try to avoid information about the game so I can go in fresh (I do that for most new releases actually). I already know I'm buying it day one.

'nuff said right there. You could go to a store, buy a game, take it home and install it and know you have the full game right there, unless/until an expansion was released. I don't know how anyone can argue that that's not preferable to having to continually fork out money for DLC and microtransactions just to get a full game. Some games don't go overboard on DLC though so it's not all bad.

A broken game was broken forever. And expansions were basically DLC that you don't actually download.

I usually don't support microtransactions, but I don't think they're a bad idea, as long as they're not required (or reasonably close to it) to play/win and they're reasonably priced.
