I tried a new strategy in Rumble mode - I stay on defense fucking babysitting, until I get a good power and opportunity to use it. It's working fine so far - except I'm still getting people disconnecting, and dumbasses nearly getting own goals from midfield.

Aaand back down to Plat II-II.

The past few seasons I didn't have much trouble staying in Diamond rank long enough to get the rewards for that season, but this season I haven't reached Diamond once. I won't discount the possibility that I suck more lately, but I've also been getting terrible luck with randoms. I get teammates that either never heard the word defense, or they ONLY defend even when we're down at the end of the game, or they DC a lot, or they just give up and talk shit or throw the match at the slightest provocation. I can barely even get out of Platinum II for very long.

I'm not really sure how you'd take offense to that. Most people are not self-described geniuses in their professional field. The only person off the top of my head who is is Kanye, and.. yeah.

I will never understand people who ghost on, after, or during the first day of work. Sometimes the job just wasn't what you thought it would be or your personal circumstances change after being hired, but if that's the case you could at least explain that.

Oh God

I decided to call it early on this con, for a few reasons. There was almost nothing to do at all; there were only two panel rooms and most of the panels were just guest Q&A. Most of my time spent there was just waiting in line for an autograph, and all the events ended at 6. I had already spent too much money, and if I had stayed any longer I would have had to spring for a ride home instead of taking the bus.

What sucks is that I turned down a party to go there. There was a volunteer appreciation party today for the con I worked at three weeks ago, but it was at the same time as this con.

You get what you pay for, more or less. They do make better ones but they're more expensive.

I got a cord with a right angle at the end about a year ago and it's been a godsend.

Another Comic Con this weekend; this one is really small and pretty much the only draw is the celebrities.

Freaking Johnny Yong Bosch is gonna be there; I may have to get more than one autograph from him just because there's SO much to choose from. I was also thinking of getting one from Dante Basco (Zuko) for someone else, but then I realized I somehow missed that Austin St. John will also be there. My brother and I were huge Power Rangers fans as kids (I even met and worked with Jason David Frank a few times), so I just can't pass up the original Red Ranger. This is gonna get expensive.
