But yeah it sucks he won't make anymore of his standard fare after JL :( In my mind he was like RLM's young apprentice. His *blank* sucks videos were basically plinkett reviews. It's worse than him just going on hiatus though, he's turned several of his old videos private. I'm worried that he thinks he's "growing up" or something when really the blunt and imperfect criticism was never IMO a flaw but just a style. These movies are not the worst movies ever, you pretend they are and it makes the video essay funnier, but growing a year or two and realizing your subjective opinion wasn't as objective as you thought it was at the time is a terrible reason to take it down. I'm fine if he takes months off or something, I just hate the idea that he's done with it. Same with Pre-rec. I'm stuck right now, but at a younger age than you Step 1 is stability. You need to know you have a place to live and some stability so you can work on yourself. Step 2 is figuring out hope: Most depressed people have some entrenched beliefs really deeply rooted things that make it such that reality can't get better, you have to at least admit to those to others. Sharing that with the right people will help you get in a better place. Step 3 is agency: Once you know there is hope you have to take agency in making changes. If you can connect your actions to positive results you can switch things to make them better. There is a big problem that the hope factor goes down with time, I wish there was a cure for that but I have not found it, even so, I wish i could reach back in the past and strangle my younger self because even things like libido and emotional vigor which I took for granted, fade with your brain chemistry. I might not be hopeless, but I know for a fucking fact that people 5+ years younger than me are not hopeless so if you fall into that category hopefully I can help you, because hopelessness is dumb.
