The last one was in 2020 which is the longest gap weve ever had between contests. However, the site has also gone through multiple ownership & leadership changes. Fandom appears to be the stingiest one. Not only have ads gone through the roof (especially on mobile), it seems like every other payout including FAQ/review bounties have been cancelled. --- 2012 U_U 2017 X_X |

| iGenesis 10/20/23 2:54:22 PM #480 | The current management cant be worse than CJayC, right? CJayC was extremely, extremely conservative (resistant to change.) While Web 2.0 was developing, he actively resisted any improvement or modernization to the site that would take it out of the Stone Age. He insisted FAQs be written in ASCII & keeping the message boards entirely text-based. Even now, the site has failed to keep up with the times, which is why its been eclipsed by YouTube, Twitch, IGN wikis, etc., and even AAA blockbuster games are getting zero FAQ submissions.
He also had a long list of rules and enforced them with an iron fist, such as moderating users for minor (PG13 level) swearing, disruptive ASCII art, and a whole laundry list of violations that have since then been relaxed. I wonder how hes doing now in his 50s. If he raised a family, his rule book for his kids must be an encyclopedias length. --- 2012 U_U 2017 X_X |

| iGenesis 08/06/23 3:14:38 PM #14 | This is a very niche website. When Alexa rankings were retired, GF had fallen off the top 10,000. When CjayC sold the site, GF occasionally broke into the top 1,000 with the help of contests - in other words, he sold it at its peak. What makes you think this site was ever worth significantly more than $2 million? Keep in mind the FAQs & other user-generated content are not legally part of any sale, just the framework to run the site.
