I could be pulling this out of my ass but I distinctly remember reading multiple times that CJayC actually got screwed over by CNET and instead of the $2M deal it was actually south of $200K with the implication that he'd transfer to a cushier position at the new parent company.It was reported in CNETs financial disclosures that CNET paid over $2 million for this site plus 2 other (far smaller) websites. If thats what they stated in the disclosure, thats what was paid for it. $2 million plus whatever CJayC earned while independent of CNET was probably enough to retire on.
