agree with axem. Iirc Starmie made high fodder based off of having a stronger design and being Misty's ace mon. Plus Starmie is a strong Pokemon for battling in pretty much every Gen.

That said Golduck might have been worth something back in the day because lolKappa.

sure, re-rank Harley. She does have the Arkham games for gaming relevance, but the relevant ones are kind of old now. Harley is still a very popular character with mainstream relevance thanks to the DCU and Harley show though.

Speed Racer doesn't have much relevance to gaming but everyone on Gfaqs should at least know who he is. I'm sure some people on the site either grew up watching reruns of Speed Racer on CN in the 90s, or are fans of the late 00s live-action movie (which I do see brought up as one of the better anime adaptations out there).

Giratina is the box legendary of Platinum, but I don't think that matters too much to Gfaqs. It's definitely got a unique design though.

Judith definitely has TJF going for her but iirc her character is kind of divisive among fans for plot-related reasons.

It most certainly is.

Unfortunately I have to go with LAW Fodder for Emil. I don't think that he's as hated as he was when his game was new, but even if he is merely divisive I still can't be too confident in his strength. DOTNW is not a well-liked game at all, and I expect Emil will suffer the most for that as the protagonist.

Low Fodder for Louis. Iirc he is the most popular character from Left 4 Dead, but I can't see him doing much since his franchise was. . . left for dead.

LAW Fodder for Kun Lan for the same reasons as other Killer7 characters - it's about as cult of a game as you can get.

For Luke's re-ranking I will saw Low Midcarder. As the main character of the OG Star Wars trilogy and a Jedi he should easily be able to clear the fodder line, but I don't think people like him enough for him to be a midcarder. Him being the same tier as fan favorite Han Solo seems correct.

Agree with Axem. Skorge doesn't seem to be a stand-out character from the series, unlike General Raam who also has a Killer Instinct appearance to his name.

Flynn isn't that well-liked as a character but he does serve a memorable role as Yuri Lowell's foil. I don't know how much people like Henry but he is a cool (heh) supporting character in NMH and is playable in the second game.

I will say Mid Fodder for Kabutops. It is notable for being one of the first fossils and has a cool design - essentially the water version of Scyther.

Agree with Low Fodder for Aku Aku. I don't think people care that much for him beyond UGGACHUCKA!

LAW Fodder for the Smiley Face. Most of Gfaqs has probably played Minesweeper, though I doubt they've done so in the past 20 years. And the face isn't really a character, its just a symbol used in the game.

Agree with axem's ratings. I think Heracross is very close to mid, but it is just too easy to miss in the Gen 2 games. It is only in Headbutt trees and I don't recall any trainers having it. Ash did have one in the Gen 2 anime, but that probably doesn't help much.

And for the record I don't think Seel is in the running for weakest Gen 1 Pokemon. It's cute and I could see it getting joke votes due to literally just being a seal and named Seel.

This is a topic to rate the contest strength of potential newcomers in the current contest environment.

I will accept nominations for iconic gaming duos too, if there is a compelling reason for both characters to be linked (either co-starring in a game ala Banjo & Kazooie, or always appearing together like Callie & Marie from Splatoon).

I will average all the ratings given to a character to come up with their final ranking. I have included a highlighted entrant from Character Battle X on each tier of the strength rankings below, to provide a baseline for each.

Note that LAW Fodder is meant to be a tier reserved for the weakest possible characters to put into a contest. A character will only be placed there if at least 3/4ths of the voters for that day agree on the LAW Fodder rating, and no ratings above Low Fodder are given. agree with axem. Kung was never much of a fan favorite and is mostly just known as hat throwing guy. He's also one of the more boring personalities in the series.

at this point the goal is to rate every Gen 1 Pokemon

Agree with Low Fodder for all today. Pat Sajak only gets out of law range due to the sheer number of Wheel of Fortune that exist. I haven't looked into it but I would not be surprised if WoF games predated the NES.

Steven is. . . a perfectly ok champion I guess? He's recognizable but I don't think people care about him.

O-Block is probably going to be the weakest Tetris piece - it's just a damn square. If it wasn't recognizable as a Tetris piece it would easily be law fodder.
