The only part that seems weird is the lack of communication but based on what Lopen is saying I guess it makes sense.

You literally weren't working for the original company anymore, you shouldn't expect to be treated like an employee, even if people assume you were one.

Once I contracted for a company sitting in their office every day among everyone else, then after 9 months I got hired as an employee and they made me do a drug test. It doesn't make sense, but it's process. It should be obvious how much more respected process is than people at a certain scale of company.

Trying to tie open world or non-open world to quality has been silly for years.

Open world games can be great, but adding open world to a perfect non-open game ALWAYS ruins it. There exists only 1 exception in the near 20-year history of open world games, and that's Elden Ring which only just came out. And even there, you can argue that it ruined the deep replayability of Souls. Many still prefer Bloodborne and Sekiro too.

There's no need to speculate though. Someone who actually played the game and gave it a 10/10 said the open world was bad. So brace yourself, that's just how it is.

Talos Principle is one of my fav puzzles, and you can play it kinda passively in between other games, so it's worth starting it now even if you don't finish it first (or ever)

It's about how damaging the game design is to the experience, and how much better it could've been. Tales is definitely on some terrible tier of bad game design, but I give the edge to DR, since Tales at least needs SOME gameplay to work, whereas DR could've just cut 100% of its interactivity and been so much better. DR's presentation and UI also work hard against it, while Tales is pretty fine from what I remember. So much of development time on that series is spent making the game worse, and that's just profoundly sad to me.

What are some examples? And by what criteria? If you're just going by overall enjoyment, then you will obv disagree, especially if you liked the game.

I'd actually say Danganronpa has the best gameplay of the three of those

People massive underrate how god awful the gameplay is in the series. I would easily call it the #1 worst game design in any published game, and this includes unfinished messes like Superman 64. There's probably worse games overall, but anything gameplay related here is just unconscionable. The top designers in the world couldn't create something this brilliantly shit even at gunpoint.

They fact is, they like the game. They liked it since 1. They like the anime tropes. They thought 11037 was genuinely clever and interesting. If you don't, then there's no chance you'll like the series, so just stop.

Avoid Danganronpa at all costs. It is absolute garbage in basically every minute of its 40+ hour playtime. Everyone will say 2 is better but it barely is. It's saying a 0.005/10 is better than a 0.001/10. I assume the following games are also terrible but after 80 hours in that series I fortunately found a way to escape.

It's a mix but mostly more lenient moderation for sure. I remember when they started transitioning to the modern style of moderation and my moderations dropped by like 90%. I was getting modded so often just a few months before that.

A bit overblown and overstated. It's not a good movie, but reviews are glorifying how bad it is a little bit. It's more of a shrug your shoulders affair I felt, perhaps I am difficult to offend in the realm of cinema. There have been much, much worse films that never get the spotlight on them though.

This implies this is part of some sort of giant marketing push by a giant multimedia corporation to get people to buy tickets and keep the movie at the top of public mindshare for weeks longer than it deserves. Which would be ridiculous.
