TBH I don't mind the congestion charge that much, it makes sense where it is. If I miss a traffic light, I'm probably waiting longer for a green light than I would be if I missed the tube and waited for the next one.

ULEZ is the one that pisses me off. It's unloved by pretty much everybody in London, however that's gettting political so I won't discuss that any further. There are two sides to it and everybody is correct of course, the world is a flower.

Fair enough. I dont know anything about ULEZ so I wont comment. In Canada we have the gas guzzler tax (usually reserved for cars like Hellcats, Lambos etc) but its a one time payment when you buy the car.

I drive a 2022 Mercedes GLA 250.

Shes averaging around 33 MPG right now after her big road trip.

At home where I tend to be a lead foot in sport mode the whole time she averages around 26.

If I grandma her in eco mode Ive gotten her as good as 38, but thats rare.

Finally saw one of these in person today.

It's definitely ugly, but probably not even the ugliest vehicle on the market rn (Looking at you BMW XM) and it's certainly eye catching.

It's also massive. Granted I drive a tiny crossover, but it's an absolute behemoth of a vehicle. Goobers who drive pavement queen F-350's have some competition.

Nice, man. I gotta say, I'm shocked to admit that I too miss that sweet southwestern desert weather, its off-roads, and its mountainous scenery. New Mexico definitely earned some brownies for that. It completely contrasts to my plain-jane countryside here in the Dallas metro.

I'm maybe going back in a few more months to start the trim-phase of this huge mansion resting on the mountains and stay again for a almost a month.

Have yet to go to Dallas. My family in Texas is mostly based in the San Antonio metro so I can't comment.

I'd love to go to New Mexico at some point too. I'm a sci-fi geek and I really want to see Roswell and I'd love to check out ABQ as well.

But yeah desert weather is prime. A little much during deep summer, but spring weather is prime activity weather.
