When the first expansion hits, I believe, which should be sometime in April.

The nerfs and ladder changes from last week are set for the end of the month, though.

I stole this from Reddit:

TLDR;

1) Year of the Mammoth.

2) Some cards from the classic set moving to Wild and not eligible for Standard: Azure Drake, Sylvanas, Ragnaros, Power Overwhelming, Ice Lance, Conceal. Don't worry about having to dust them and getting less dust. Blizzard will give you FULL DUST VALUE for these Hall of Famers if they are in your collection! (Without having to dust them)

3) "For the Year of the Mammoth, our release cycle will include a ~130 card expansion at the start of the year, a ~130 card expansion in the middle of the year, and another ~130 card expansion at the end of the year." - ~400 cards coming in Year of the Mammoth. These full card expansions may also have adventure style single player missions.

4) An incoming Heroic Brawl in the Wild Format along with more support for Wild tournaments.

5) Fireside Gathering support.

6) Daily login rewards like gold and dust for a short time. Login!

7) Maev Shadowsong in the game if you play just 10 games of Standard Ranked/Casual with the next expansion. Go get it! (New Rogue Hero)

Rejoice, UCA, as your favourite superstar, Mr. Money in the Bank himself, is here to remind you that we are mere days away from my official coronation as the Money in the Bank winner and your future Undisputed Champion.

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves just yet, though. For now, I am here to conquer that ladder, just as I conquered your glorious King in our last 1 on 1 match. With Strife now firmly entrenched in a battle with Sultan, Apollo will be forced to stand up for himself for the first time in a very long time, and as we all know, Strife was the crutch that held his majesty up.

Enough about your future Money in the Bank runner up, though, as there are apparently others in the match who will be unfortunate enough to feel the wrath of your favourite superstar.

Now, according to what I'm reading, your favourite superstar and your King will be joined by Stevie, CPU, Wigs, and [Open Spot]. All tough competitors, especially that last guy, but nothing Mr. Money in the Bank himself can't easily handle.

Get used to seeing me with that briefcase, UCA, because after I present you with an enjoyable show, all of your dreams will become my reality.

Waking up to nerfs is like Christmas morning. Two good choices, but I agree that it might not be enough. It'll likely hold off the community until the new expansion, though.

What I'm more excited about is the ranked floors. I'm definitely more interested in laddering now. Nothing got me more salty at the game than last month when I went from Rank 8 to Rank 13 on a single losing streak. Since then, I've only been playing to do quests.

Right now the 3DS is my only Nintendo console and it'll probably stay that way unless the Switch gets content that interests me!

I only really bought the 3DS for JRPGs, and other than those, Mario is the only first party franchise that I have any interest in. I did contemplate getting a WII U just for Mario Maker, but I held out in the hopes that the Switch will get something similar at some point.

19. Beat a platformer

Super Mario 3D Land

This is essentially everything I could have asked for out of a modern Mario. I enjoy the style and gameplay of the 3D games (64, Sunshine, Galaxy), but don't really enjoy the "open world" aspect that some of them have. Bringing this style to set levels and worlds similar to the 2D Marios and executing it well made for a great experience.

I beat the main game while getting all stars in every level, and got a few worlds into the Special levels, but I'm unsure if I'll also complete those as for the most part the levels are the same and I have a bunch of other games I want to get to.

Amnesiasc/Pavel is part of it.

There is also the issue of poor handling/production at the HCT Winter Championship, as well as the supposed cheating at the same tournament.

Then there's the whole p4wnyhof thing. In summary, essentially every other pro hates him because of him being scummy in the past (as well as the whole viewbot thing on Twitch), and with a tournament coming up that he potentially may be invited to, some top/popular players (Xixo, SuperJJ, Lifecoach, Forsen) have said that if p4wnyhof does end up getting an invite, they are withdrawing themselves.

This is all added to the already extreme negativity surrounding the Hearthstone subreddit and the scene itself regarding the state of the game.

45. Beat a game that's been adapted into another medium

Yo-Kai Watch

I'd seen toys around, but apparently there is also a TV show out there that I was completely unaware of until recently.

Good game overall. Level-5 games have been consistently good to great, out of the ones I've played. I went back and forth on this one a little bit, though. The mechanic is fun and I enjoyed myself for the first 8 hours or so, then I kind of burnt myself out in an attempt to do every sidequest, especially due to the RNG of befriending the Yo-Kai, so after finishing about half of them I just decided to stick with the main story and really enjoyed it.

I don't think I'll do much of the post-game stuff, though. I had my fun with it.

How "random" does the TVtropes page selected need to be? Can I keep clicking random until I find something that might actually be doable?

In any case, I was on the site for unrelated reasons and found myself going through random tropes until I came across "Ojou" and some of the games on the list are ones I have some vague interest in and hopefully will get around to this year, so I'm posting it here to remind myself to play them to satisfy the challenge at some point.

Does stuff need nerfing? Pirate warrior doesn't really bother me. Shaman, I'll admit, always seems to have answers to everything. But if the win rate is under 53%, obviously it's beatable.

I think its less about the win rate, which I'll argue is similar all around because every deck runs the same cards, and just the fact that the same Pirate package is in literally 50% of all decks.

Win or lose, seeing STB and Patches turn 1 in half of all games you play is not very fun and exciting.

9. Beat a remake or enhanced port

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD

Good game, and an enjoyable experience. Kingdom Hearts is one of my favourite series of all-time, though, and this game ranks near or at the bottom of it. That probably speaks more to my love of the series than it does about the quality of this game.

I was iffy on the drop system to start, but the worlds were different enough for each character that it ended up being pretty cool by the end. I found the entire companion system to be unnecessary and useless, though.

5/50

Also I have no idea how to work a Google Doc properly, and so every game I add with a long title spills over to the next column.

I feel like the IM title and the MELEE MAYHEM title are significant in the opposite way in which I assumed they would be, at least for as long as I've been here.

My observations with each title go a little like this:

The LW title being worthless seems like an issue because there are only ever 1-2 people who are consistently competing for it, with everyone who doesn't show up or hasn't been here in a long time lumped into the division just so that the 1 or 2 people who actually care about it have something to do. It's obviously tough with this title because its definitely a "refresher" or "stepping stone" title and you can't really expect established users to want to go back to it, if only because its tough to have a meaningful feud involving it.

The MELEE MAYHEM title seems like the true midcard title, where those not in the main event scene can actually have relevant feuds.

The IM title has seemingly been in a weird spot since I started here. It seems like the title is given to established, veteran users who do show up to vote every card but who don't really promo, and so most of the matches involving it end up being a situation where a veteran, established user who isn't super active is given an opportunity, which only seems to continue the cycle of the title just existing without any actual storyline around it.

The HW division seems extremely crowded, conversely, as it contains every established user who wants to participate and promo, which is understandable, because if you've been here awhile and seek to put the effort in, you should be put in the same situation as others.

After proof-reading this post I've realized that I've said a whole lot of nothing, but I guess what I was trying to say is that overall things seem top heavy, and because of that, the midcard is not only lacking users, but also story and excitement, because anyone willing to get super involved in the promo and entertainment aspect is either at the top of the card, or is a new/returning user and at the bottom of the card.

I didn't mention the tag titles because, for the most part, there always seems to be something interesting involving them.

22. Beat a fighting game

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

As I said with the first in the series, fighting is probably my least favourite genre of game next to horror, but the DB Universe was enough to get me to want to play these games.

This ended up being essentially more of the same as the first game, albeit with some much improved changes to some game mechanics and side quest stuff, along with some cool additions to the story.

More of the same ended up being cool though, even though I played the first one just a few months ago. At this point, I think I've had enough for the time being, so it's a good thing I played this not too long after its release so if there does end up being a 3rd one I have some time to get excited for it.

As both the newest and most under-qualified person to be speaking here, I'll say that for the most part, 90% of my votes are what I believe would be the better storyline victory, other than my own matches.

I also tend to vote for people who participate more, both because I feel like they should be rewarded for participating and usually because they tend to deserve the win more, and I realize that sometimes that clashes with the first point I made.

In terms of the tag match, I totally forgot about the potential double booking down the line, and so my reasoning for not voting for WotR was a combination of my first two points, and also because for me Eddv/Raven was a more credible team. Again, because I'm newer than everyone else my views on who I think is more credible at any time is different from others because any time someone who has a storied history shows up I can't really gauge it because I wasn't here during their time.

As far as XIII's other point about kind of just cutting generic promos and not going for anything, I'll be the first to admit that my character has gotten super stale, but at this point in the season it doesn't make sense to change things up until after Mania. As for the second point, I feel like I don't really have enough tenure or credibility to kind of call my own shots and seek out my own title feuds, which is kind of why I can get pretty generic until something like that is set up for me, however I do like to think that anytime I have been in a meaningful feud I've done enough to make it personal.

I am committed here, though. I don't plan on being anything but super involved in the UCA in the future.

38. Beat a game you'd dropped or had a long hold on

Wario Land 3

I've had a very long hold on this game. It was probably my favourite non-Pokemon game on the GBC growing up, and I put countless hours into but at the age of seven or eight it was always too tough for me and I probably restarted and played the same dozen or so level twenty times.

I was excited when it came out on the 3DS eshop and picked it up sometime in the summer, quickly getting to a point I never got to as a kid, but as I kept playing I realized that maybe I didn't like the game as much as I thought I did. A lot of the enemies and puzzles were annoying, and the game doesn't do the greatest job of letting you know what is actually necessary to do, so I dropped it again.

I picked it up this week in an effort to finally beat it, and after clearing a bunch of levels and not knowing whether I was actually making any progress, I consulted a guide and figured out that I already had everything necessary to beat the game, so I did that. I don't think I'll ever go back to clear 100% of the levels, but I am glad that I finally managed to beat the game after so many years.

36. Replay a game from a long time ago

Super Mario World

I didn't expect this to be the first game I beat in 2017, but I remembered that I picked it up on the 3DS eshop back in the summer and never got around to playing it.

Its probably been nearly 10 years since I actually went through a full playthrough of the game, so I was pretty surprised that I managed to remember everything that was necessary to get all 96 exits.

I've played about 4 out of what will end up being likely hundreds of hours by the end of the year. I've finally started to take it more seriously, reaching rank 3 for the first time last month.
