I kind of laugh at this notion of being "on top" in a country that lacks any type of serious plan for Universal Health Care leading to some of the worst health discrepancies in the wealthy world, often struggles to educate much of it's populace leading to a culture of disturbing amounts of crime and an embarrassingly large prison population, has an increasingly visible wealth gap that traps many of her citznetry if not in outright poverty pretty damn close to it, has fallen behind in much of the serious metrics of infacasture thus potentially leading to a loss of economic productivity in many departments if not corrected, and has seen one side of it's political aisle openly try to jump the safeguards of our Constitution that they claim to revere thus leading to some of the worst potential political instability not seen since the lead up to the secession crisis that triggered our bloodiest war.

many in this topic of course think our country could of course NEVER collapse or backslide rapidly in living standards due to frankly outright arrogance, if you are genuinely concerned about the future of the great American experiment your alarm bells should be at max output observing the trends of the what last 4 decades.

We're not mad at them, we're simply saying it's premature to say let's forget about all restrictions. We're not saying forever, just until both vax rates are higher and case counts are lower. It's clear that vaccinations by themselves are not enough

it unfortunately seems the CDC was in a odd spot many Americans just aren't going to get the vaccine and we can't wait for them knuckleheads forever, there was growing pressure since many politicians were adamant in reopening their states/local communities, another vocal group was annoyed by the overtly cautious message the organization was still following with growing evidence of the extreme efficacy of the vaccine in fully vaccinated individuals, whole situation is just another example of damned if you do damned if you don't, jeesh.
