It's a little overplayed considering. A-holes in general. That's the bigger issue. If you are white and live in a black neighborhood you really deal with the same crap. It's not necessarily a race issue as much as it's just an idiocy issue. Cops are not going to realize anything either and just use it to make themselves look good.

It's a status thing with a lot of people. Some people are that desparate to have status too and what they will do to keep it.

Ctrl-f water and start reading that paragraph. The circumstances around his pleading guilty to that crime are iffy at best. Additionally, even if he did commit the crime he served 5 years for it and would have paid back his debt to society.

Not always poor white people. Sometimes yeah and a lot of the time. But sometimes people just live there because they get tired of the status quo and how people are. Other people live there because they are on missions to help and everything too. Other people just live there. The cost of living in some states is very high. Whether it's because they are going to school there or did and just never left or whatever.

From my experience it's not a matter of race all the time either. It's a matter of status and people stick their noses in where it doesn't belong.

I get what tc is saying, sounds like he had a not great record (that in no way at app justifies what happened to him)

But he is more of a symbol. We have plenty of statues of people who had much worse baggage (see: founding fathers, slave owners)

Cops more than definately are going to believe a wealthy person over someone who isn't. It's a matter of status which is wrong. Because there are some really corrupt wealthy people out there. Just human nature and shows how shallow people can be.

And a lot of the time in poor neighborhoods you have people who will project or try to project a certain status. People get desparate. Not everyone is like that though. Cops are just as bad. They are basically snobs sometimes and can't realize their own faults.

Like we might argue, "its not who he was as a person. Its what he represented as a symbol. He sparked a revolution in freedom and police brutality. He represents our feelings about this problem" etc.

But like...isn't the exact opposite applied to so many removals of statues? Founding fathers, lincoln, etc.

It absolutely makes sense because cops will lie to fit their agendas and absolutely do that. I've seen it. ANd no not all cops are bad. But they have an agenda. And they absolutely judge people that way and so do a lot of people.

Most cops don't even understand the laws they are actually enforcing. They are basically status quo. Like most people. Most people aren't going to go out of their way. They'd kill you first. Most people aren't that good. They live in boxes.

So this is what TC decided to wake up and immediately do? Be a loser today? Well, heres that attention your mom wont give you, man.

I mean, no one asked for George Floyd statues. You could've attended dozens of protests last year and not found one person calling for the erection of a statue to Floyd. They asked for, as a bare minimum, police being held accountable and their role reduced, and instead they've mainly got apologies from sitcom writers and symbolic platitudes.

What happened with George Floyd is actually the opposite of what should have happened. People live in boxes. Even black people live in boxes sometimes. And it went the opposite way it should have. Cops get away with doing all sorts of nasty things. So do people. Usually it's the person that gets caught. Not the cop.

Basically just massive egos going the wrong way. It is about status too. It's that shallow.

I've dealt with enough people to realize the lengths they will go to not be taken advantage of the way cops and the system will take advatnage of people. A lot fo doctors included. Most people aren't that great. They do the same things and would never be on the other side of the fence and the lengths they will go to protect that and their supposed integrity instead of doing what is actually right. Derek Chauvin was a douche and got caught. Just the flavor of the day.

Republicans are some of the worst at this. They can do no wrong. And will even pose as something else. Not everyone is bad though but a lot of people are like that.
