I must put my hand under my pillow a lot or something, cause every morning the scab is rubbed off and the wound is raw and I have to start the process over.

A few times I have put a bandage over it to protect it, but when I do that it traps in all the moisture and basically makes the wound raw anyways.

This has been going on for a week.

Serious answer, from a fellow 33 year old.

I don't mind spending money on food or cooking, but I HATE deciding what to eat. So because of that I eat the same things every day for breakfast and lunch then have a set schedule for dinner. I also try to eat relatively healthy and watch my calories.

Breakfast: protein shake (made with soy milk), package of quaker breakfast flats

Lunch: string cheese, salad (usually just lettuce, vinegarette, and some parmesan cheese), fruit cup

Dinner:
Monday - rice and chicken (usually with genearl tso sauce on it, or teriyaki or something)
Tuesday - burger or brats with french fries
Wednesday - this day I leave open to have whatever I feel like
Thursday - frozen pizza (usually just the cheap party pizzas)
Friday - fish sticks and mac and cheese (most of the time, unless I go over to my parents then I eat leftovers)

On the weekend it's anybody's guess. I usually sleep in past breakfast, have a small lunch, then make something random or pick something up.

One week without tinder, and really I don't miss it as much as I thought I might.

When I had it, it was literally the first thing I opened every time I picked up my phone.

But after a few days I realized I hadn't even thought about it. Though I guess when I am really bored and looking at the same 2 apps over and over again I miss it as something else to open up.

As I have said previously, I just deleted tinder and bumble.
Before I did I matched with a girl who I had matched and talk to before, but never met.
Since we had talked before she instantly just gave me her number.
So early last week (Sunday or Monday) I said she we should go out this weekend and she said yes (or more specifically "Yes!").
We planned on meeting up Friday night after she got off work.
We kept texting throughout the week. She is telling me she is so excited to go out with me.
Come Thursday, she doesn't respond to my texts.
On Friday, no responses.
So obviously we didn't go out. And I haven't tried texting her again.

But shit like that is pretty much why I got rid of tinder.
If you don't want to go out with me fine. But at least don't get my hopes up by telling me how excited you are the whole week.
And if you change your mind and don't want to go out anymore, that's fine too, but just act like a fucking adult and tell me so. Just ignoring my texts. That shit is so childish. I know it is basically the norm nowadays with app dating, but that doesn't mean its a cool thing to do.

So I guess for the next few months I will just not even worry about dating at all, unless anything rekindles with the girl I used to hang out with or I randomly meet a girl somewhere in real life, but I wouldn't hold my breath for either of those.

Since I live in a rural area I really don't think that is a problem for me. Compared to some of the backwater hicks around me I probably seem like a good catch.
I mean there has to be a reason I have always been single. I obviously don't know what it is. But if women I met before dating apps felt that way it makes sense that the women I meet with apps feel that way too. I have gone on a lot of first dates. Only a few second (or more).

Some say the only thing sadder than online dating is giving up on online dating. But for realsies, good luck. I found online dating slightly soul crushing. Before it I was blissfully unaware of how undesirable I was.

I had the same profiles for well over a year, and being in such a small population area I had to keep constantly expanding the search radius to even see people, and that means they probably didn't even see me. So one benefit if I join again is that the people around me will see me again, and maybe with different pics/profile they will swipe right this time.

More than anything I just needed a break because it is kind of soul crushing. First off 99% of the time I opened the app there were no messages or new matches for me so after awhile it is just "welp, nothing again" which starts to wear on you. Then when I actually would get matches I would have conversations, ask if they wanted to hang out, they say yes, then never responded to another message. That happened like 10+ times.

Not to mention that just the act of trying to come up with an opener and conversations over and over when nothing ever comes of them gets real old after awhile and you get tired of exerting the energy.

Granted I know I am not gonna meet anyone not trying, but at least by not trying I don't feel like I am failing over and over.
