as I see it, there are several ways of interpreting this question:

1. could you analyze the lyrics to a particular song in the same way that you analyze any other text?
2. could you find some sort of symbolism in a fictional character listening to a particular piece of music?
3. can you interpret ideas and symbolism in melodies and chords (without lyrics) the same way that you would interpret ideas in words?

maybe others too; those three are just the first ones that came to mind

the answer to the first two questions is Yes.

as for the third... it's sort of a soft "no" with a lot of asterisks. that is; it's much more subjective, and at a certain point it becomes much less grounded in the music itself.

music can't convey semantic meaning on its own, but in some circumstances people learn about the context of a piece of music before hearing it and, knowing this, they might be able to hear some of what the creator was going for

If you have a depressed person and want the curtains to convey that, they would be black, not blue. Blue might be an idiom, but black clearly drives the point home.

blue can convey it too. this isn't a clear yes/no issue. every colour has many different connotations that can assist in interpreting visual imagery

Sometimes things are described to paint a picture. If an author describes a dog breed it doesn't mean that it is strictly important to the plot. It can just help the reader picture what was envisioned by the writer.

I'm aware that it isn't necessarily important to the plot. but the symbolism might not actually have any bearing on the plot

of course there are times where physical descriptions are just that, but authors - especially those studied in english classes - use imagery as metaphor all the time. this has big why dont they teach taxes in high school energy. if you have a setting with a depressed person, i highly doubt the author would note that the curtains are blue without intending to add to an image that supports that underlying message.

moreover, the authors intent has very little to do with it. thats the problem, is that so many english classes are taught/graded the same way as math or chemistry or any other subject with a clear right and wrong answer. seeking additional meaning, those little details that could tie in somewhere, is the most interesting part of analyzing art, but if people dont get it themselves they assume the person saying so is just a blowhard

Yes and no. Metaphors are in fact used in literature. But not every detail is a metaphor

if the colour of the curtains was unimportant, it wouldn't have been mentioned. colours have a lot of different associations, and there are many possible interpretations of what those colours can represent

I believe that we can only experience a small fraction of reality in a tiny blip of time and that anything could be possible. I also dislike the idea of religions pretending to know the unknowable and think most ideas of god are, to borrow a phrase, an opiate for the masses.

preferences are informed by society. society stigmatizes fat people in many ways. it is possible to examine the ways in which your preferences are informed by society, to question their legitimacy, and to unlearn (at least some of) that stigma

Even if it is, what's wrong with being shallow? More importantly, why do you have to expand your comfort zones for someone else? It's not like dating/sexual preferences are actual conscience choices you can make, so the stigma against this just seems a little...excessive, tbh.

"shallow" isn't an indictment. it's an accurate descriptor of someone's actions

when I was using dating sites regularly, I was looking for a few things:

-good variety of photos, to get a real impression of what the other person looks like
-something (probably in the bio part) that suggests similar values
-something that suggests a compatible sense of humour

The amount of people that dont know what a cosigner is and have their credit tanked because of someone else is shockingly large.

As a result, they are definitely financially held back.

Teaching finances would be a major boon.

it might be helpful to some people, but financial education in general is only useful to people who already have enough money that they aren't struggling. that's not most peoples' situation.

stressing financial education is really just another way of putting the onus on individual responsibility rather than the systemic solutions required to address systemic problems like poverty

it's not a lack of finance knowledge that makes people poor. it's a lack of money and resources. financial education won't help; there will just be a lot more people in poverty who have some financial education

will respond to the rest later but it would mostly be that we are complete noobs so trivializing combat by optimization is a problem that is very far away, oen of our veterans is playing a paladin and is not doing this smite on every attack that I see people online talk about so much, I blew up my party memebrs with fireball twice by mistake as well, I don't think a little overtuned dude that can one shot a single baddie is gonna break the game, and if ti does we can of course adjust.
I do think that due to the concerns, some impairments should be added.

FOr exampel if we were to go the two feat idea, how would I be getting STR up to 19 tpo even carry an ultragreatsword in the first place? and it would also not make sense with the intense training to aquire such STR if you are not improving your statistics.

If lvl 6 is too son, and lvl 10 is like 2 months before our current campaign ends, how would you balance this?
Maybe the lvl 6 features ends in exhaustion like Frenzy.

lol wielding two of those weapons is insane dude. you can't balance that in tier 1-2 of play. the Greatsword already exists in-game and serves basically the same function. you don't need the homebrew weapon for your concept to work

it can be hard to balance homebrew with the base game. it becomes chaos when incorporating more homebrew into the mix.

at that point you wouldn't be "trivializing combat by optimization", you would be trivializing it by using combinations of broken homebrew.

I still think tying this to a feat rather than a subclass is the way to go. the concept really does not fit the way barbarian subclasses work

I just realized that there's a lot of overlap between this idea and the second feature of the Dual Wielder feat:

You can use two-weapon fighting even when the one-handed melee weapons you are wielding aren't light.

it might be worth considering tying this ability to a feat rather than a subclass. maybe restrict the feat to level 8+, have a Strength requirement, and have the Dual Wielder feat as a prerequisite

not sure what you mean by "colossal swords" but as far as I know there's no such mechanic in D&D (or at least not in 5e; the one I am familiar with), so you would likely be in homebrew territory from the get-go. do you mean Heavy weapons? Two-Handed weapons?

honestly dual-wielding in 5e via the official rules is extremely underpowered, and there wouldn't be a super significant mechanical benefit for it over just using, say, a Glaive or Halberd and taking the Polearm Master feat.

two things about Barbarians specifically:
-a Barbarian's 6th-level feature is generally, primarily, for out-of-combat purposes
-wielding two weapons in the way you're describing would require training and study, meaning your idea would probably be better suited for a Fighter subclass.
