I didn't need to play the OG Resident Evil 2 to think Resi 2 Remake was a good game
I didn't need to play the OG Silent Hill 2 to think SH2 Remake was a good game

The frame of reference should be the current games on the market

I'm hearing a lot of about how faithful this is to the original. Great. But I'm holding it to the same standard as a game released today and when it comes to gameplay, pacing, level design, enemy AI, etc it definitely feels like it's from 2008

Resi 2/3/4 Silent Hill 2 are on another level compared to this

It's genuinely a chore to play

There is no tension, no horror, just clunky gameplay in indentical pitch black environments

Didn't think Callisto Protocol was amazing either but it at least it wasn't boring

Thought I'd make a start on my backlog a while back and half of these games are just worthless

Ghostrunner - Game won't save correctly, restarts from scratch every time
Callisto Protocol - wasted premise, with braindead combat
Shadow of Tomb Raider - Pure distilled boredom
Marvel Midnight Suns - Horrid forced story content
Control - Charmless MC w/ vocal fry

That said, SIfu is goated, I'll give them that one

At this point I'm expecting the Russians to uphold a ceasefire in exchange for a relaxing of the sanctions. Chinese soldiers offer to do the peacekeeping which is accepted.

Short term Ukraine itself will be a failed state and kept on life support by West Europe whilst there's a new wave of refugees.

Long term Russia will rebuild it's economy, carry on the disinfo campaign across Europe and have another crack at Eastern Europe once the Taiwan situation rears it's head.

Same thing applies to street fighter 6 and resident evil games

afaik, the DLC give you an extra fast travel point you can put where you want but you get some in the main game story anyway.
