I get not wanting to watch a 4 hour video because there are a lot of youtube videos of that length with subjects that I couldn't care less about. Like I don't particularly care to watch a 9 hour retrospective on a video game.

This video is a very in-depth look at a niche subject and it doesn't waste any of its 4 hour length. I thought it was very interesting, and I'll probably take a look at some of her other videos now.

Finally got the Blue Ring and everything about the game makes way more sense now

I usually grind for the blue ring before any dungeons. Not needed but theres not much in the game so why not.

I say Blaster Master. Not for any cred to not be a poser but just because it is probably my number one loved NES game of all time and I just think it is a superb game that should be enjoyed. Awesome music, awesome variation in the stages.

This game took up a large chunk of my life in 1988 at 12 years old. I was in junior high and this game along with Ninja Gaiden and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles dominated my life for about 18 months mastering them.

Sure I would sprinkle other games in there as well like the well known Mega Man games and many other titles but Blaster Master was soooooooooooo good. Such a top tier game.

I still periodically listen to the music on youtube. Something about the music from that era it remains some of my favorite sounds even though I know modern OST's are superior I just love that chiptune music and sound effects.

I am a teacher and the year before Covid we had a crazy winter storm and had a full week of cancelled school. Beat Metroid on the mini with save states. And made a lot of margaritas.

Zelda 2 is a lot. If you can get Crystalis thats fun. Its Zelda like with some light magic items. Its on NSO. I understand there are some bad ports.

Is it nostalgia or is Zelda 1 still playable?

Id put Contra, Mega Man 2 and on, Dr. Mario, Super Mario games as still playable.

A radio show I listened to way the hell long ago used Drown by Smashing Pumpkins as bumper music. I misremembered it being on Pisces Iscariot and was losing my mind for years trying to find it on the album or the other albums I have. Then relistened to Singles soundtrack and there it was.

I used to be a 100% A1 guy but I have to say Heinz 57 has grown on me quite a bit and I do use it now about half the time.

Those are both good, just dont have a lot that I would use them on. If they are available and I have steak fries or a baked potato Ill splash some on.

Probably because I grew up with SNES, not NES, but I find it hard to go back to most NES games. SNES games I feel aged far better since they had more quality-of-life improvements that still make them hold up today.

Also, why would I play Super Mario Bros. 1 thru 3 on NES when I could just play their SNES All-Stars versions?

I alternate between versions. Sometimes I like original graphics.
