Don't worry about it. Just like it was considered racist and wrong to generalize the violent actions of religious extremists because they don't represent the larger group, we also need to recognize that school shootings are a really, really small statistic compared to the millions of people who own firearms. I mean the former is called fear mongering, so the latter isn't something to get too worked up about either. I think we're finally getting a Raising Canes here in San Diego. How does it compare to KFC, Popeyes, churchs, etc?

It has a smaller menu, but quality over quantity. The sauce is what makes them famous. They also have really nice texas toast.

Pretty much blows all those places out of the water.

You seem to live the exact opposite life of me.

I work with all women. We dont talk about otaku stuff. Yeah, the book stores are full of it cause kids love it. Adults probably like it too, but assuming this friend is an adult, he is gonna have a bad time trying to live his otaku lifestyle.

I live in Hamamatsu, and I really dont see much anime stuff outside of bookstores.and generic advertisements. Ive also lived in Kochi and Koga (shikoku and ibaraki) and it wasnt a big deal there either.

Im not denying whta you are saying, but i think his friend thinks Japan is actually like a cosplay convention or something.

I live in Japan.

He is gonna hate it.

-traditional Japan hardly exists.
-if he has any tatoos, he cant go to hot springs, and if he can, people wont like him being there.
-anime and manga are for children, and nobody discusses it in public.
-all the zany stuff you read about japan is isolated and usually only happens in one small part of tokyo. If he is teaching, he will probably be in the countryside far from there.
