Rika, much like his country, is very sparse and isolated. Two states by themselves outnumber Australia's entire population. Two. States. And go figure, those have been in the news quite a lot lately, along with some other notably dense locations that just can't seem to catch a break.

Hard to believe the truth that across 300 million people, things are actually pretty quiet. Yet when people slurp up the news and focus it all into one bubble, it's very easy to imagine that the nation is a never-ending warzone. But, just like how certain weirdly-unsettling sigged users spout on about how well they have it, or how it's much better, I still can't picture anything but a land of koalas, bird-eating spiders, spider-eating snakes, getting your shit wrecked by emus, and whatever Vegemite is. Obviously that's not the entire picture of that area, but hey as this topic shows, assuming the worst in others as the norm isn't just an American thing.

Anywho, it's 1am in murderland and I need to get my combat nap in before the LAPV rolls in to exfil me out to work.

There's more than just racism in that video. You notice that the guns are treated with more care than the victims and the camera follows the shooter basically ignoring the victims immediately after the fact.

As an Australian, I'm glad that guns are heavily restricted here, however I understand in America it's a different culture, it's literally written into the constitution which is an issue because if they take it away people will simply stop trusting the government because "what's to stop them taking away other constitutional rights".

Times have changed, but it's going to take someone with brass balls to really push for change on gun laws in America.

I'm just so glad that I don't live in America. I used to want to move and seriously looked at it but I'm glad I didn't.

I dont compare alcohol to guns, even if both are misused and causing too many unneeded deaths, Im just showing how the holy piece of paper that cant be changed easily can be changed and that it has been done in the past.
And before somebody else decides to read it as they want it, no, I dont think that banning guns will solve anything. I dont think it is doable, even if the Congress decides to do it.
More guns wont help, since the shooters are ready to die and wont get scared off from doing it. It is just a matter of time before a good guy with a gun trying to stop a bad guy with a gun will be mistaken for a bad guy with a gun.
The problem is that it is such a huge stigma in helping others and capture people with social nets before it goes so far so they are driven to do a shooting, it will not be solved by throwing more guns into the equation just because it is cool to own guns which you hide behind an old piece of paper that you pretend is the holy grail.
If you havent raised up against the Government by now, then you will never do it.

Also its not about who wins, its about the fact that the population has any means to defend themselves at all alters how the govt will act.

When I have an altercation with a man around my build or larger I am more inclined to de-escalate because I know this person would cause me difficulty if it became physical. When I have an altercation with a teenager or a female I tell them to fuck off because they pose me no threat.
