Welp, I'm alive. She took the moon purse and her wedding dress. She got super pissy when I told her that she still (legally) owes me for the parts of the lease she skipped out on/the damage she caused to the apartment.

Here's hoping I never have to see her again.

Okay, real talk: it would look better on me than it did her. The benefit of time, distance, and the intensity of betrayal has revealed that my love for her made her look beautiful in my eyes. Whether she's actually ugly or if it's just the pain I feel from what she did, I can't say for certain.

Anyway, she's coming back... with her friend who partakes in [things I can't mention because TOS] and murdered her husband. If you never hear from me again, assume I've been murdered too.

I might end up doing that with a lot of it. I am still planning to take her to small claims court for the rent once the lease ends. You can't technically take someone to court for a debt that doesn't exist yet, so I've had to wait for her debt to be "complete." I could have taken her to court every month, but I figured I may as well do it all at once.

There are actually two green screens and one of them is indeed collapsible. She was trying to be a Twitch streamer for about a month and spent hundreds of dollars on equipment. Ring lights, green screens, a $400 gaming chair, new camera, paid for a stream layout and emotes, etc.

I was one of her few consistent viewers. I helped advertise her stream and moderate the chat. It would be one thing if it had been a hobby that she kept at, but she got bored and stopped after dumping tons of money into it.

Yeah. I haven't gone in-depth in this topic, but this ex has put me through absolute hell for roughly the last two years. Cheated on me, dumped me, begged me to give her another chance, was super gung-ho about finally getting married, started treating me like garbage again, walked out and tried to stick me with the entirety of the responsibility for the apartment after three months of being married, a week later kissed me, told me she loved me and wanted to be together, gaslit me about it the next day when I had an important interview, and was dating someone else within three days of that.

I cleaned out a closet. I've always called it the Harry Potter closet because it's technically under the (upstairs neighbor's) stairs. Multiple times over the years, I've cleaned and organized it just for her to throw a bunch of crap in there and ruin it/make it impossible to find anything. I found more Magic cards! ...they're all mine. Says a lot about our relationship that my cards were relegated to a box in the spare closet.

I've also definitively combed through her closet and pulled out anything that was mine. I even found my old copies of American McGee's Alice and The 7th Guest. I bought both of them at my local thrift store when I was in high school. That might not sound wild, but it was in a rural town in the late 2000s. It was a surprising find both times.

Part of me hopes she comes just so she'll take her crap and I don't have to deal with it. Part of me also really doesn't want to see her. The feelings I have towards her aren't pleasant and I don't want to deal with the intensity of them when she's around. I don't trust her enough to just leave while she's here though.

Then prepare to be surprised, or something. MtG is a very active game and bulk rares become valuable if they aren't reprinted to death and are even slightly good. For instance, Cyclonic Rift was a $.25 Rare from RtR that is now going for $35. Odds are you have quite a few cards worth a lot more than you might have realized. Rather than scanning everything in use something like Dawnglare for a visual breakdown of cards as you can quickly put in a bunch of sets->flip through cards until you find one on the screen.

I might drag the magic cards with me and catalog them after I move.

She seems to have 8 decks of magic. If they have a good mana base, those are usually money (5-20ish) and each deck could have a few.

Return to ravnica has the shocklands which are some of the best lands in the game nd cost around 10-20 each.

If she had good cards there could be hundreds or more. If not could sell it all as bulk for 60-100.

There are apps like tcg player where you can just scan the card and it shows you the value. You also find the total value this way and sell it all at a discount.

I'd be surprised if she has anything that valuable. We both played Magic around that time (lots of our mutual friends did) and I had a lot of the same stuff. I enjoyed playing it, but I couldn't keep up with my friends who would put serious money into their decks. I was doing good to buy a booster every now and then lol

If it makes you feel any better, we didn't have a big fancy wedding. It was a private ceremony with just the two of us. We actually hadn't told anyone other than our parents that we got married for at least two of those months. One of the purses is a cute moon design itabag. I looked it up: it costs $60. She bought it at a time when she was arguing with me that she didn't make enough to cover her half of the expenses (she makes nearly 4x what I do).

I've talked at length about the situation, but the tl;dr is my ex abruptly moved out one day about six months ago. She took her bed, the big-screen TV, the PS5, and an entertainment center (and a few other small things of hers). She left behind SO MUCH stuff and I'm not sure what to do with it all.

A few choice items:
1) A size 12 wedding dress
2) A fairly sizeable collection of X-Wing miniatures
3) A sterilite container full of Magic cards
4) Multiple brand new purses
5) Yu-Gi-Oh cards
6) A bag full of... things
7) A ring light
8) A green screen
9) Multiple wigs
10) Her W2

Anyway, suggestions for what I should do. She has had six months to come back and get this crap. I have to move soon and my apartment will charge me for anything left behind.

Good luck with that. I've always had such rotten luck with finding work that I'd never leave a job without having something else lined up. I hit a breaking point with my current position about two months ago and started applying for new jobs. Had one interview. Had to put the search on pause because I'm moving, but as soon as I get settled in, I'm hunting again.

Nope.

Sure, I would never have to worry about paying rent. Buying food. Paying for my cat's medical care. Could probably buy my own health insurance. Could buy a car. Could buy a house. Could quit my soul-destroying job and focus on my hobbies. Could buy every game, manga, and piece of art supplies I ever wanted.

It would not change the inescapable loneliness of my life. If anything, it would probably turn into my "friends" revealing their truly wicked natures and hitting me up for money. I already have one "friend" who talks massive shit about another "friend" for essentially not just giving them money because they're relatively affluent (roughly 80k/year). I'm sure they would start hounding me for money. All my cousins, who preach a big game on social media about their godliness would start beating down the door of their sinful, degenerate relative to ask for a handout.

I already feel like no one will ever love me for me, I sure as hell would never trust anyone after coming into a large sum of money. Speaking of which, since I'm in the midst of a divorce, I'm pretty sure my vile harpy of an ex-wife would swoop in to get her "half" even though she nearly left me destitute half a year ago.

So, no, it wouldn't solve all my problems, but it would solve a lot of them.

Honestly, I'd buy a car. I've been without my own personal car for several years and haven't had access to one for almost nine months (was sharing one with my soon-to-be-ex-wife and she took it with her). I'd probably just buy a brand new Honda Civic. That'd be like $30k max after taxes and everything, assuming I didn't get one of the fully-loaded models.

I want to say I would "invest" about 50k of it, but I genuinely have no idea where to start with that. I have no idea how the stock market works. I barely know what a CD or index fund is. Would it be a good idea to hire a financial advisor or would they just steal my money?

The rest of it, I would probably just sit on. I'm a very paranoid person and feel anxious without a nest egg to rely on. I currently have 4k in the bank, but I have to pay rent for my current place and move in costs for my new place. That'll wipe out about half of that. I have a decent balance on one of my credit cards, but I'm still in a 0% APR period, so if I pay it off at like... $50/week, I can knock it out by the end of the year or transfer the remaining balance to a new card. So I effectively still have a 2k cushion and I make about that much per month. You're supposed to have three months of salary in savings though.

I have a "friend" who's always asking me to hang out, but she keeps company with an absolutely reprehensible piece of human garbage. I could demand that she stop hanging out with him if she wants to hang out with me, but I know she won't. So, I've pulled away from her. She still messages me from time to time, asking me to hang out, but I've been explicit: I don't feel comfortable around that guy and I will not go anywhere that he might even possibly show up.

I know that if I hadn't already blocked that guy, he would be hitting me with a flurry of messages berating me for trying to control her, but I'm not; I'm controlling me. I don't want to be anywhere near this shitstain, so I'm abstaining from hanging out with her because of her proximity to him. People gotta learn that you are the company you keep.

I'm not a big fan of my own birthday. I was a lonely kid growing up, so I never had big parties with lots of friends over. I have a distinct memory of arguing with my mom that I didn't want a party one year (it was at some point when I was a teenager) because nobody would come, but she was very insistent. She ended up getting me a cookie cake, which was nice.

My last two birthdays have been kinda sad. I turned 30 this year and have been going through some personal troubles. Last year, my long-term partner cheated on me and dumped me about a week before my birthday (and then came crawling back about three weeks later).

About five years before that, she threw me a wonderful surprise party and invited a bunch of my friends. It was a ton of fun, it made me feel really loved, and I appreciated her for doing it. Unfortunately, as I would find out she had a habit of doing, she didn't really have the money for it and went into debt to pay for it. That ended up being a pattern with her: big, extravagant show of money/affection -> resulting debt -> blaming me for the debt.

So, I don't have too fond an outlook on my own birthday. I cringe when people give me things because I assume it's either a) a way to get into my pants or b) something that they're going to hold over me down the line.

I had one. She complained when I wanted to do stuff on my own. I had things I liked to do at certain times (same time and day of the week, every week) and she would always pick that time to demand my attention. She'd constantly message me.

It was suffocating. What's worse is that after she revealed herself to be completely crazy, one of my "friends" said I was the co-dependent one. A lot of evidence shows that he was trying to get into her pants and he also has the emotional depth of a puddle, but still. Sucks to get mistreated and then be accused of doing it.

Archie is possibly the dumbest animal alive. He jumps into my lap while I'm working and then grumps when he's squished (because I have to be close to the desk).

I love him so much. Except for yesterday when he woke me up at 5 AM by jumping on the bed and hacking up a hairball right next to my head. I had just washed my sheets and comforter too.

Are you seeing this in person or on delivery apps? If it's the latter, there's a good chance that some of them are ghost kitchens.

Therapy has never personally worked for me. By-product of two decades of shitty therapists. First told me, at roughly ten years old, that it was my fault that no one liked me and that I deserved the way my abusive father treated me. Second was a college therapist who threw up his hands when I expressed that a professor was being demonstrably discriminatory towards me. Third was a therapist who said that I deserved my miserable situation because I... continued to pay the electricity and rent in my apartment (long story) and that it was "suspicious" that I wanted me friends to believe me about my abusive ex.

I'm also kinda sex-phobic. By-product of being with an abusive, coercive partner for a decade. She cheated on me, never took precautions, and probably gave me something.

Can I just use the $200 to pay my FFXIV sub? That's like good therapy for me.

See, that introduces too much ambiguity to the riddle. The simplest solution is that she can tell the truth to anyone and that she will not lie to anyone she likes. Therefore, when she tells Sam, "I do not like you," she is not lying. If she liked him, she would not lie to him. She is capable of telling him the truth.

Mary does not like Sam.

"I only tell the truth to people I like" means that she does not lie to people that she likes. It doesn't mean she lies to people she doesn't like. Therefore her next statement, "I do not like you," is true.

I've never actually been rejected on that front. I asked one person out (who said yes). Everyone else I've ever dated has pursued me.

That said, I've rejected plenty of people. I initially rejected a guy who wanted to date me in my freshman year of college, but ended up dating him (and he ended up being an asshole). I rejected the woman who ended up being my soon-to-be-ex-wife for a whole year (during which time she kept pursuing me) and, seemingly the moment I gave her a chance, she became crazy and hurtful. I had another friend who had a crush on me for years and finally told me after she got engaged to someone else (she's nice, but I would have rejected her for other reasons before that). I was in two emotionally abusive relationships in a row, which utterly destroyed my confidence, ruined my trust in people, and completely ruined the concept of intimacy for me to the point where I now get anxious towards sexuality.

I'm also too old to feasibly get my life back on track again, and women my age, rightfully so, would be very judgmental and weary of wanting to associate with a loser like me. Idk. It's basically happened to me.

I graduated with a STEM degree. I couldn't even get shitty lab jobs paying like three dollars more than minimum wage to give me an interview. I put in hundreds, no, thousands of applications for a variety of jobs (tech, administration, lab work, etc.). I had like... four, maybe five interviews in six and a half years.

I have a crappy job now. It's production-based pay. If I don't produce, I don't get paid. The rate is double minimum wage, but I'm struggling even though I'm really good at it. I wanted to move to a cheaper area, but my manager pretty explicitly told me they'd fire me if I moved out of city limits even though the work is 100% remote.

I'm really depressed. I don't have a car, so my odds of getting a better job are non-existent. I barely make enough money to keep a roof over my head. Any time I talk to my mom about it, she tells me to just apply at Amazon. She genuinely doesn't understand that "working at Amazon" is doing back-breaking labor for the same amount of money I'm making now. She also just scoffs when I talk about my job hunting trouble and says I'm "just not doing it right."

I did everything I was supposed to. I worked my ass off to get a "real" degree. I had the highest GPA in my major. I minored in CIS (basically the intersection of programming and business). I moved to the nearest big city where all the big boy jobs were. I constantly applied for jobs. Tailored my resume. Tailored my cover letters. I had professionals completely rework my resume multiple times. And it didn't get me shit.

So, I don't know how it happens even though it happened to me.

Endgame. I've seen one or two since then, but I just don't care about it anymore. I also have a personal bad association with Eternals lol

I don't think there's anything that could really bring me back. I just don't have the energy to get invested any more. Also, my personal standard of living has had a tremendous drop off in the last year. I went from (ostensibly) lower-middle class to lower class. Money is tight. I don't have a car. I do not give a shit about paying $15 to go see a 3/5 movie with people I can't stand.

Archie was overdue for his vaccinations, so I took him to the vet. Had an exam and a bloodwork panel done.

Good news: he's extremely healthy
Bad news: the vet did say he is a little chonky and needs to go on a diet.

Sort of? At my school, you had to go to lunch at a specific time and you weren't supposed to leave the cafeteria until your class left. One year, I frequently left when I was done eating, hid out in the library for the remaining lunch time, and then met back up with my class. I'm still not sure how I didn't get in trouble because the administration power-tripped hard over lunch time. The assistant principal would stalk up and down the tables to make sure you at your assigned seat (yes, assigned seats, in high school).

Oh, I know. Archie won't eat people food. He's very particular.

I dropped a piece of cheese while making dinner tonight and remembered that I don't have my little furry garbage disposal anymore.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like she lived a good, long life and you cared a lot for her.

I picked up Mereoleona's urn today. It's a lovely little wooden box with a plaque and a lock. I like to think the lock is to keep her contained. She was a spicy little baby. Now she can sit next to my old cat Tuffy.

Well, that sucks. I can't imagine PS5s are going to be any easier to find or any cheaper by then.

Disputed. There are 5 Dollar Generals in the area around me and I live 5 minutes from a Target and 2 Walmarts.

"Generally," my man. I currently live in a major city and there is a Dollar General and a Wal-Mart both within ten minutes of my place.

They generally pop up in towns that are too small to support a Wal-Mart. My hometown (roughly 4k people and a thirty minute drive from the nearest Wal-Mart) had one for as long as I could remember. They also had a Bill's and a Fred's (similar dollar stores) for a long time.

Some stuff is overpriced there, but there are some good deals. I used to go there to buy Monster for my ex and it was the cheapest place you could find a variety of flavors (she didn't want the big packs of the same flavors). Something like, two for $4, four for $7. It was cheaper than the gas station at least.

Archie snuggled with me all night. He'll usually lie down with me, but get up at some point and wander around the apartment, but he stayed. I woke up before my alarm went off and decided to set another one for about half an hour after the first (enough time to get up and get clocked in). He laid on my chest and purred the entire time. I think he knew that I needed it. He's such an angel.
