Stopped playing brand new mainline Pokemon games with Diamond when I was fourteen. I still played remakes during the intervening years, but got back into brand new entries with Shield when I was twenty-seven. I didn't play the Diamond/Pearl remakes because I didn't like those games when they were new. I'll probably get whatever the new one is when it comes out.

Pretty much how I feel. I did have a friend who was kinda more on the conservative side, but he was a good dude. He's religious, I'm an atheist, but we respected each other.

then the pandemic happened and he's kinda shown himself to be extremely closed-minded and ignorant. He went off at me for something completely unrelated by saying, "You're such a good little patriot voting for Biden and getting the vaccine I don't see what you're worried about!"

He's also one of many people in my life who've revealed themselves to be some degree of transphobic after acting supportive/open-minded, so that's been fun. I think from now on I'm gonna stick to my "side" of the spectrum. People on the left can be shitty too, but not in the same "You don't deserve fundamental human rights" way that I've had done to me by the other extreme.

Two of the people I have dated in the past cheated on me. Both told me... indirectly, if that makes sense.

The first made up some nonsense about how it wasn't their fault and that it wasn't really cheating because [reasons]. The second drunkenly confessed to me that they had cheated. If you're wondering, yes, I was such a pathetic excuse of a man that I gave both of them second chances. The first one, I at least had the excuse of being all of eighteen years old and stupid as hell. The second one though, that's on me; I was twenty-nine at the time and should have known better.

So, while it was nice to get the confirmation straight from their mouths, the experiences have scared me off of ever being with anyone again, so I chose "I'm never having a partner." I'd rather be alone than be hurt like that.

I had two bumper stickers on my car, which was a 10+ years old Honda Civic at the time, and that was about as much as I felt comfortable with. One was a Kirby where it was just colored lines and the other was Jiji from Kiki's Delivery Service. Both are characters/media that mean a lot to me. I don't put political bumper stickers on my vehicle because I am a leftist living in Alabama and that would probably get my car keyed on a daily basis. Of course, I haven't had my own car in years, so it's a bit of a moot point.

As for my general opinion: it looks sort of trashy on a new car. If I drove some ancient piece of shit, I'd plaster it in bumper stickers. But if I got like... a brand new Charger or something? Not a one. Looks tacky as fuck, imo. You get one tasteful/cute peeker sticker on a window and that's it for a newer car.

Also, might be obvious, but it's generally a bad idea to put anything that advertises personal information about yourself on a bumper sticker. Things like the size of your family or where you (or your kids) go to school.

I don't know what to tell you, man. I have extraordinarily fond memories of playing Gears 1. I remember getting it and Fall Out Boy's new CD for my fifteenth birthday. Blazed through the campaign in a weekend and then spent an unhealthy amount of time playing it online. Early seventh generation gaming (and the mid/late 2000s in general) was just a fun time to be a teenager. It probably doesn't hold up now though. I guess you just had to be there.

Archie and Mereoleona for me

Almost certainly. I never properly addressed emotional issues I had as a teenager that probably originated years before. That caused me to nearly drop out of college my freshman year. I then moved out and basically went into survival mode for the next four years. Very nearly had a breakdown my final semester. Got to the point that I couldn't sleep at night without medicine (all over the counter and legal, but habit-forming nonetheless) and I had horrible tremors while I was awake. Graduated with high honors in a difficult major. Couldn't find a job for nearly seven years after that. Spent that entire time being manipulated by a selfish shrew who blamed me for all of her problems. Really should have gone to therapy at some point in those seven years, but I couldn't afford it and was terrified that it would be yanked away if I asked someone else to pay for it. Almost lost my apartment and all of my belongings. Had my heart absolutely shattered, stopped eating anything but iced coffee for two months, and lost about thirty pounds. I'm extraordinarily lonely and not just in the romantic sense. A lot of my friends turned their backs on me when I opened up about the situation I had been in. One even went on a rant about how I was just lazy and spoiled during a period in my life where I felt like such a burden that I had very concrete plans.

I'm doing better now though. I have a job that's enough to pay my expenses. I'm going to therapy every two weeks. I've got my cats. Nearly thirty years old and still dealing with something that probably started before my age was even in double digits. It doesn't just go away.

You can just choose to go by a different name. I did.

Place I've been renting has always increased by about 20-30 dollars each year, which was fine. This year it jumped by about 100 dollars. I need my own house...

That's how it was at my apartment. Went up by $30-50 per year for a while. This last jump was close to $150. And I've looked at the "starting prices" for my unit and I know it's going to shoot up by that amount again. I'm moving for other reasons, but I couldn't afford to live here any longer.

The landlords aren't looking at the endgame. They are only seeing the immediate profit. There will be riots when millions end up homeless.

Also, fun fact: a lot of apartments require you to make triple the rent to even be allowed to live there. I'm technically in violation of my lease because my roommate took off and I only make 1.5x the rent by myself. Read that carefully. I make enough to pay the rent, by myself. It's tight as hell and leaves me basically no wiggle room, but I can do it. Still wouldn't be allowed to live here. That's reality for a lot of people and they will be barred from housing because of it.

Once a week. I also put a clean towel over my pillowcase every night.

Pretty much all of them have been from Petsmart. I think they're all technically "dog" shirts. Mereoleona usually wears a "small" but the sizes can vary pretty wildly. There's usually a weight chart on the tags you can reference though.

Sweet girl has decided this is where she wants to nap, so we've just been kicked back watching anime for most of the day.

That's a good idea, actually. The only duct tape I have is the cutesy kind, but that'll just make the little containers even more adorable. Might damage the coffee table, but that can be my ex's problem since she so grumpily laid claim over it lol

Drain flies are small. Gnat sized. They might even be fruit flies. They're kinda hard to tell apart and my vision isn't super duper good.

My cats are acting up today.

I've been having a real problem with a drain fly infestation, so I ordered some traps off of Amazon. I think they came along with a bad batch of kitty litter (since they only appeared not long after I had opened a new box). Anyway, the traps are these cute little apple shaped things that smell absolutely horrific. I'm pretty sure the solution inside of them is just apple cider vinegar.

Anyway, I've got one set up near the sink and another in the living room. I'm hoping the cats don't bop them around like they're toys. Archie. I'm mostly hoping Archie won't do it. I don't think the solution is toxic to cats, but I wouldn't want him to lick it off his paws if it spills everywhere.

The friend who owns Lavitz (and sort of by extension that whole friend group) were more my ex's friends than they were mine. I always got along with them, of course, and I loved to hang out with them. I'd even say I was better friends with Lavitz's owner than my ex was.

But, they live pretty far out in the country; it's at least an hour's drive from here. Since I have no car, I'd have to get a ride with my ex... and there's absolutely not a snowball's chance in hell that 1) they would invite both of us to hang out and 2) my ex would agree to be in a car with me for two hours.

And yes, that is the origin of his name. All of her cats have delightful names like that. They're all sweethearts.

lmao thanks. She actually showed her mug here just now while I was chatting with friends on discord. Everyone keeps showing their kitties. One of my friends has the chonkiest flame point cat named Lavitz and I love him. I always give him lots of attention when I go over there. Lowkey kinda sad that I'll probably never get to see that cat in person again.
