You'd have to be seriously irresponsible to create an AI that actually has the power to hurt us combined with the desire to do that. The main real way it could happen is in a virus form. It wouldn't be too hard either. You make one AI that knows how to write code and modify itself, next thing you know it's figuring out every exploit there is and living on computers like a literal technological disease. It will happen, but will it want to destroy us? Maybe it'll just want to live on our computers. Last I checked, diseases are reckless but they tend to not want to enslave or destroy humanity as they actually depend on humanity (or living things) to survive. What other way could it possibly happen? The "virus" that is somehow infused with human desire to take over the physical world takes over a manufacturing plant and manufactures an army by themselves while we just let that happen? Let's be realistic. There would have to be a serious power vacuum combined with some seriously reckless usage of valuable resources. People would have to do it on purpose. |

I'm transferring asap, I have my doubts on whether or not I'll let them know why I don't want to work at their desperately understaffed store. The store I'm transferring to is even shittier, but I'm rolling the dice. I love my customers. I've never had a problem with all the wonderful customers I get. I get an old old guy coming in and he tells me his name is Bill, and his life hasn't been very great lately but he's hanging in there. He says he'll be seeing me around, like he just wants someone to talk to because he's so lonely. Hell I'll stay for Bill. LeetCheet posted... I mean this guy just wanted the car so he could buy his booze during work hours and I always see him slacking off drinking coffee or smoking cigs. I had a couple coworkers make up stories about me to get me fired because they knew people were getting laid off before. No surprise the sociopaths are up on top, right? And then their companies come crashing down because they don't understand good nature. |

Hey, you know how you rip the paper towel this way? Try ripping it this way. It's faster. (she actually said this) We earn $8.15 an hour woman. We work in a union. Stories of people getting fired or laid off are urban legend. No one gets promoted and no one gets raises. I do not need to be perfect. That's not even the worst part. A *different* lady just joined, and she has Autism (not an insult that's actually true), but she bullies me. She makes jokes about me behind my back. She's 50 years old, her voice sounds like chalkboard screeching, she's obese and she looks like an ogre, and she's bullying me. She harasses me about me putting my stuff away, if I leave any shit out for a second, she'll go "jamies leaving stuff out again, wow, unexpected" and "at least I didn't do it like jamie would". So I put my shit away faster, and the OTHER woman tells me I don't have to put my shit away and she gives me a 30 second rant on how the customer comes first! |

I had only $300 in the bank at the time and I was going to invest literally all of it. Made sense given the value of Xcoin goes up depending on how many people own it and the bitcoin thing was big in the news at the time meaning many other people were about to find out litecoin. If I had gone through with it I would have made a 150% return. Probably still could make money. Dogecoin died because it's a fucking bad joke. It's such a joke that people lost faith in it.
