this is only my third event, and in my first one i wasn't paying attion to CEs. in Saber Wars, there were two 5* CEs that you could get 5 guaranteed copies of, and in Go West itself there are two other 5* CEs that you can get 5 guaranteed copies of. so i guess i just got used to a trend that doesn't always hold.

is there any point in training a 3 star unit? i know you can increase the rarity but if the unit has a 3 & 4 star version, it would be better to just wait until possibly pulling a 4 star? disregarding the chance you could never pull them again.

to answer this specific question, the cost of upgrading from 3* to 4* is pretty insignificant. if you end up with a 3* with the +stat you want before the equivalent 4* then go for it. the -stat doesn't really matter for 3-4* because it goes away once you merge.

And now Eliwood outclasses Brave Roy. So far, every other character has been an old 3* or 4* with bad art. Florina, Rebecca, Athena, and Est are probably in the pipeline.

can't mention Est without Lachesis. and honestly there's a lot that look worse than Rebecca to me, though i know i'm in the minority with that opinion. i've seen some complaints about Tharja's art so she might be coming soon as well, being an actually good unit like Eliwood and Cordelia.

got Arash to level 60 today. it's nice being able to 3-turn hands now. though with over 2 minutes of load times per fight and my attention easily diverted due to said load times, it's not really a ton faster than when i 5-turned them. i'm using scopes on him and Raikou, with mage outfit and a friend Gil/Ishtar, farming bond on Tamamo/Wu/Herc. haven't done Arash's interlude or Fou'd him so the charisma is just enough to usually kill things, if not they're easily finished with the remaining cards

still gotta figure out what to do on lancer day. given that i don't have Merlin or Waver, i think i might need to keep refreshing for my MLB scope Raikou friend and hope for enough Raikou busters to finish off any gold lancers, and that would probably also require Fous and the interlude just to make sure the silver dies. either that or get Spartacus up and use him, Raikou, Saber Lily with a friend Merlin or Waver and battlesuit maybe?

oh yeah i haven't burned a single XP card yet. i was explaining why i wasn't even doing the 30 AP node for embers right now. so far just doing 2 events has given me more than enough prisms so i don't anticipate needing to do that anytime soon

yeah, i'm well acquainted with XP grinding. the first half of saber wars i was mostly doing that, that's how i have MHX and Musashi at 90. at one point i considered doing the lower difficulties just once per day for mana prisms, but then i found out silver XP cards give mana prisms, so if i really needed them i could just use burn the few i get from the 40 AP node. though i still do every node of the class materials once per day because i need so many of all of them.

after literally getting Elarra's USB1 from the daily draw during the 10-day-or-so period where i was definitely going to select it, but hadn't actually done so yet, i can't help but wait on those.

plus, this time it's actually a hard decision. on their own, Cloud and Lightning awakenings are definitely the best, but if i got their syncs i wouldn't really need their awakenings. meanwhile, Tidus, Zidane and Tifa would benefit much more from being able to combo them, and i like all of those characters more than Cloud and Lightning.

man, after finishing Septem, Okeanos and London in one day each i thought i might be able to at least finish Camelot before the reduced AP cost ends (why did they start that in the middle of Saber Wars, anyway?). but i was only able to do about 1/3 of it yesterday. battles are taking a lot longer, with several of them coming down to my 6th servant. i had to actually use a friend instead of a story character for the first time to beat the second encounter with Gawain, and with Mordred coming up i'm sure i'll have to again now. yeah, with actual friend help it would have been quicker, but it's more fun this way.

i came in from a super weird spot, with 10 SSRs but only 4 leveled - Jalter, Raikou, Musashi and MHX - and no support or defensive types really leveled (just Tamamo at 50 something, now 62). i did get George to like level 25 yesterday and he's still really helpful (sometimes i use the 3x invincibility CE on him). likewise, i spent the 50 monthly blazes of wisdom on Mash to get her to 40 something and she's also helped occasionally.

though i'm not totally sure what i should be doing when the reduced AP story event ends. the next 3 events don't require any more story progression except to do CQs, which i don't think i could do anyway. the 4th from now requires Solomon and has a welfare rider, which, given that i missed Kintoki, is definitely something i want to be able to do. there's supposed to be another reduced AP event just before then, so i'm thinking maybe just wait for that to do the rest of part 1. i have a bunch characters that will be boosted in the upcoming Apocrypha event, none of which are leveled, and then a couple more for the event after. not to mention the Xuanzang event coming first, which i might be able to get away with sticking the currency-boosters in the back at level 1, but maybe not.

i got Seifer's awakening today. could be useful for Alexander if i don't get a source of en-Dark for Orlandu. Shiva probably not happening still. and i still haven't farmed Mateus, just the 1 copy for the quest last week, so he could be an improvement over Machina, though maybe not until i magia him.

i actually have half the units in the VG. i like the bunny outfits and the peg sisters. though Palla was the only one i actively tried to get. i got Catria while going for Kagero and Veronica while going for Palla. then a second Catria from a legendary banner, who's conveniently still sitting at level 1 (Palla is also level 1 because i just got her).

haven't 100% decided on which awakening to pick, but leaning toward Lightning, assuming i don't get it from the last couple free draws.

Celes's is... usable... but it takes some work. One of her BSBs gives en-holy (the party buff one). Once she gets her unique ability she'll be able to deal holy damage while benefitting from all her spellblade bonuses.

yeah i know about the ability and have the BSB, but i'm still not sure i'd actually use her in a holy team when i have Agrias and TG Cid awakenings. basically only if i could fit all 3 in. i haven't actually fought deathgaze yet, maybe with Aeris awakening i wouldn't need godwall or entrust?

Easter Bartre has odd atk wave. I can't help but imagine how happy I would be... if I didn't already sac a Ishtar to her a year ago(Which is why I'm so glad I got over my "Can't sac my only copy" mentality. Imagine waiting until 2020 for that).

Sadly no Est as a bonus unit. Fae and Bartre are the easy f2p options. After that is Idunn, and of course the new Easter units.

still haven't gotten over that mentality. the only 5* exclusives i've ever sacrificed for SI are Takumi and Hector lol, and just 1 of each. nbd in this particular instance though. i spd-refined Nino and always use her with atk tactic. maybe if we get a spd tactic seal and i have to use her apart from LAzura i will care about it.

i think i have an Idunn sitting at level 1 that i've never used. i've actually never used Fae either, but i guess i may as well for this event. though already 3 of my 7 +10s are green.

this, btw, is contrary to the other $$$-only feature just implemented, which lets you buy a unit you built in hall of forms with all the skills you added, but without merges and you cannot use as SI or merge fodder. so if there's a unit you want to build being featured, you can get all the SI you want for them more easily but you're stuck with a neutral nature forever.

Although, this isn't a true dilemma since you can cheat and play on the 11.8x and only commit your points after the next hour already started. On top of that you can cancel the commit and get the 12x should the miracle occur. So gameplaywise, there's absolutely no reason to commit your points during the 11.8x hour but casual players don't know this.

true, i guess in that sense you could call people casual. i used to actually do this but then i stopped caring enough to bother (and it became obvious it's never going to work).

it's not "casual" to do this, it's common sense. you already know that Sothis has lost by then, so you use your flags to maximize your own score.

WSothis was the only one i really wanted, but i guess Altina is okay. she was my second choice, and at least i didn't end up with an Alm, Azura or Leif dupe.

got a free Perceval which is pretty sweet. have also gotten a free Helbindi and Ninian the past few days, not that i care much about those. weirdly, the last 3 Ninians i have pulled (not counting the free one) have all been +HP/-spd.

finally got Kiria today at 4.75% after two other pity breakers, on my last possible summon (well, without catching up on multi-map battles or blitzing through February training tower quests, anyway). fell into the red-on-4-unit-banner trap, though i was also pulling every blue and oddly got no blue 5*.

The quest notifications showing up for the Feh Pass quests and not going away unless you pay money is basically the worst thing humanity has ever done.

Destiny Child had that exact same problem. they eventually got rid of it after people kept complaining about it. don't remember exactly how long that took, maybe 4-6 months? though that was just the global version that was changed that quickly.

Summoning red on a four unit banner is miserable, but you don't have an alternative for a seasonal unit like Elise. She already appeared on a legendary banner if I recall correctly

yeah i got her from it when i was not going for her in the slightest. i forget who i was going for but i believe i was sniping for a color that wasn't red, and red wasn't even my second priority.
