The entire first 15-20 minutes of that movie is seriously incredibly compelling and perfectly crafted. I just remain disappointed by the rest of that movie so much.

This is exactly how I feel about Hereditary, though in that case it's more like 30-40 minutes.

Had a lot of fun with Child's Play! Not anywhere near perfect but it was very clever, especially with its new portrayal of Chucky and the AI/IoT fueled horror. I'm a sucker for when horror is so timely. The music and Mark Hamill's performance were also standouts. I wouldn't mind seeing more of this take on the franchise.

For the first time since the game's launch, I'm skipping out on an event. Feels freeing in some sense but I guess a part of me is sad to see my interest in this game clearly trending downward after all this time.

Holy crap, FINALLY. Google account linking announced for JP. I hope we get it super early like we did the back button. Being able to easily play on the phone while out and on the PC at home is so basic for any other game but I just assumed FGO would stay in the 20th century forever. Legit can't wait for this to get implemented.

If all you have is typical 40 AP farm nodes then you really only need like 10-15 mins to blow your whole bar. If you've got story and low AP boss stuff to do then yeah that's when the game gets needy about your time.

I'm surprised how well I kept up with this event, actually. Since before it started, I switched to only playing the game at night - effectively only using half of my AP - and I'm looking to 100% the event tomorrow. Pretty good pacing in that regard, I hope future events are similarly generous with their time.

I didn't really think about this until now but besides the downtime we had before this event, the game really doesn't give you very much time for farming embers anymore, huh? It's nice for me and everyone else who's been playing since day one, but I imagine if you have lots of servants to level it's pretty hard to find time to do it these days.

CCC event is pretty darn neat so far! My motivation to play the game was seriously waning after that dead week making me realize how much of my playtime with this game is just purely out of a sense of obligation, so this was a nice shot in the arm!

Also since I don't play during the day anymore, I switched over to playing on PC via an emulator at home and, uh, holy shit it's so nice lol. Really makes me wish DW wasn't dumb and allowed at least some method of PC play like so many of the other mobile games do. Having to transfer every single time with this game really means you have to pick one or the other, which sucks big time considering what an improvement PC play is. :(

Jacob's Ladder is fantastic but I do feel that the disturbing aspects of it get over hyped. It's super cool to see how much it's influenced other works like Silent Hill, though!

Watched Cam last night. I've heard super mixed things about it but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit! Definitely feels like it landed the exploration of internet/tech based ideas significantly better than other horror works I could name. (Unfriended being the easy whipping boy on this one, lol.)

Anyone playing Extella Link? Supposedly the gameplay is a pretty massive jump up from the first game, which is awesome! DMC5 is eating up all of my action game attention for the foreseeable future, though, lol.

Microtransactions easily, but non-expansion dlc is pretty bad as well. I shouldn't be impressed when a game releases as an actually completed product and doesn't ask for more than retail price, but here we are.

The true expansion pack style dlc we've seen a rise of recently (Ballad of the Champions, The Old Hunters, Donkey Kong Rabbids, Hearts of Stone/Blood and Wine, Octo Expansion, Frozen Wilds, Iceborne etc) is actually a fantastic application of modern delivery systems at a fair price.

Does the new translation for 3 on mobile make a big difference? From what I've heard 1 and 2 are best on mobile unless you can play the Japanese ps4 versions, but there seems to be a bit of contention on the definitive version of 3.

I used what was translated initially then I had a friend help me out the rest of the way.

It's a very slow-paced game but the atmosphere and horror is really top-notch, I would recommend it just for that, it's really the main draw of it.

Nice! I'm sure I'll get my chance some day. By the way, not to go further on a tangent, but would you happen to know how the game ties in with The Silver Case? Like, would playing The Silver Case first ruin Moonlight Syndrome at all, or vice versa? I've been wanting to try it but I'm worried about essentially playing them out of order.

Well the plot had a specifically set date for the incineration of humanity from the very beginning so this all kind of had to happen here. You could say they wrote themselves into a corner or didn't budget their time properly but there is an actual reason this had to happen before the new year, lol.

It's still early and there's plenty of room for learning/argument but at first blush it seems like it could be the best Smash in general unless you're a diehard Melee player. IMO the single player is the best in the series beyond all argument.

P5 was so, so good but it was just missing enough for it not to be my favorite RPG. Even by the late middle of my first playthrough I was already imagining how wildly the game could benefit if it received an upgrade akin to P4 Golden. Fingers crossed that this is as good as it can be!
