It's not the ultimate cause for the ban but I do think all of the footage of the horrors inflicted on Gaza was a factor that renewed interest among Congress. So it might have been enough to get it over the hurdle, so to speak.

All the republicans wanted to ban it since Trump's term. They are the party of "those darn kids!" anyways.

Probably this whole mess helped convince democrats and Biden to side with it.

Valve has proved time and time again that if a publisher acts in anti-consumer ways, Steam will issue refunds.

I think people still have an old fashion view of comics and don't see going down to a shop to drop money on a single issue as worth it. I don't think people are aware that you can get a digital subscription and just read whatever you want. They also view comics as massive long running things like Spider-Man and can't get past the barrier of entry. Comics don't have big traditional marketing campaigns like movies so people don't even know about smaller comics. All of this is compounded for kids. Unless they're actively seeking stuff out or have a friend that read something, they just aren't going to know about anything. Also, something something dropping attention spans.

Kids usually don't have credit cards.

Very simple.

Comics are EXPENSIVE.

manga at least the anime is free and you can get a whole minibook for the price of.... 2 comics.

That's part of it. This kind of thing is actually the only thing that DOES work anymore. Sudden, loud, overwhelming numbers of bad reviews and complaints have done a lot of good lately. It has to be huge, though.

A good non-gaming example of this was the Sonic movie trailer. People memed on the design so hard that the studio spent millions redoing the CGI to look more like... you know, Sonic.

Then the movie was a strong success. It's almost like listening to the audience is a good way to get money from the audience.

I dont listen to a lot of Drakes music, but the fact that he used AI versions of Tupac and Snoop is crazy to me. He didnt give any thought to their styles of rapping or their verbiage and just had their virtual voices reading words that he (hopefully) wrote It soured my opinion of him in general.

That combined with the ending line of Kendrick calling him a colonizer fits so well.

Adding ice is over-rated. It dilutes the drink and takes up space in the cup that could otherwise be the actual beverage. With enough ice you barely get any drink.

While he's grossly out of touch, lots of Americans did get a lot more money than just the stimmies. There was the pause of student loans which put hundreds back in the wallets of some. Rise of the child tax credit up to 3,600 for 2021, meaning that most families got that amount for EACH child. The small business loans that were forgiven that MANY GROSSLY misused to buy luxury items. Think my neighbor used it to remodel his home.

Of course, that money's gone by now and with the start of student loan payments plus inflation, many people are worse than ever.

The people who hate stimmies really hate that families got extra stimmy based on how many kids.
