I mean say what you will about the tenets of National Socialism dude, but they did have some pretty slick uniforms and cool imagery. And I mean this from the purely aesthetic sense of the word, not what they represent. Goddamn on top of being reprehensible vile people they had to go and forever associate some really cool looking stuff with their fuckery which just makes them even worse in my mind.

As for the museum, I highly doubt it was a museum celebrating Nazis lol there's no way that wouldn't get shut down in a second would it? It had to be a WWII museum or something.

How to even put the SSD in the thing

Do I even use the thin metal part?

I didnt use that part, I just used the sliding trays. But from what I'm looking at, in the top right of the bracket is another hole that looks like a screw goes there. So I'm assuming you screw down the thin metal part to hold the SSD in place on the bracket and then screw the bracket back on

Not 100% tho but thats what I surmise

^ I think you also have to take into account the influences each company had. Shinra basically subdued the proud Wutai and turned their town into a tourist destination. They constructed a large city on top of existing towns and stripped the old towns names away and assigned them numbers. They had reactors in just about every other city which led to places like Corel having its citizens lose work and then the city was burned down and the citizens gunned down by Shinra just because the reactor blew up. Same thing happened in Nibelheim although that was more Sephiroth going rogue than Shinra doing it, although they still sent people there to act as if nothing happened to cover the tracks.

In short, they basically control the world and are a de facto government which is why they're able to get away with so much blatant evil shit. Umbrella has funding and military resources but they don't have global influence and much of their work is done in the shadows. The outbreaks outside their facilities were also accidental IIRC, I dont think it was their intention to spread the virus like that but it leaked out.

At least from what I've played so far (0-4 and I'm most of the way through CVX)

Umbrella.

They just wanted to kill people.

Shinra was typical dystopian mega corp.

Is it really that simple? Let me remind you that Shinra dropped the sector 7 plate. Basically killing an entire 1/8 of its population to attempt to kill like 3 people. Not to mention knowing they're draining the life force of the planet which would kill everyone else so their elite members can have their assigned places in the promised land.

They weren't just some ill informed money hungry company

It used to only be a local beer, I used to go to the brewery with my brother a lot, and even then in the late 90s it was only a Pennsylvania brew, it originated in either Pottsville or Pottstown, both were pretty close to where we lived. In the early 2000s I saw it in Atlanta finally and was pretty excited.

When I was still working at the restaurant I used to work at, when they got Yuengling I was able to try it and I just thought it was gross.

If I'm drinking by myself and I have a choice, the lowest I go is something like Blue Moon or Shiner. When I'm at a get together and all they have is domestic shit I prefer Coors personally. Coors Banquet is especially tolerable. But I mean I'm not going to turn down anything if someone puts something in my hand lol

It also depends on what is the source of the hot or cold. I'd rather be in a sauna than a walk in freezer. But outdoors I would rather extreme cold than heat. Something about the environment and the UV rays that just doesn't make extreme heat outdoors as pleasurable as a sauna. I guess also the idea that you can step out of the sauna just like that and when you choose comes into play, but being outdoors and far away from a cooling source can be devastating to the psyche

You can always put on more layers in cold. if it's too hot there's not much you can do.

Assuming this is talking about being outdoors since if you're inside you can adjust the thermostat accordingly and it doesn't make much of a difference.

I agree with that but I also get where Canuck is coming from because I can relate. Years ago when I was working at a print shop I started hanging out with one of my co-workers a lot after work. He was a casual drinker at best but he turned into an alcoholic from hanging out with me. I never forced it upon him but being around me drinking every time we hung out he started doing it more and more.

I also understand the mindset of feeling guilty. I used to smoke cigarettes a lot, and my friend (the one I spoke about that I recently had a falling out with) never really smoked cigarettes until me and him roomed together then I noticed he started smoking more and even buying his own packs. I thought "if he didn't live with me where I smoked a pack a day and we hung out all the time, would he have still picked up the habit or not?"

But I am a proponent of self accountability. I didn't smoke a single cigarette until 19 when I was in college and had a friend that smoked a lot and I tried some from him at a party and I gradually grew into the habit. Is it his fault I started smoking? No. I chose to do that. I knew full well what the consequences were, I had been taught about it pretty much all 19 years of my life until that point. He never egged me on to do it. I made the conscious decision to ask him if I could have one, he even asked me if I was sure because he knew I didn't smoke, and I kept reassuring him I wanted it. It's the same thing of when I first drank and smoked weed and did any other drug I've ever done. I chose it, nobody forced me to do it.

I've also never done heroin or meth or any of those other drugs. I've been around them plenty as well but that's a conscious decision I'm making to never do them when offered. Hell my roommates during my hiatus from college before I went back, who were my friends since HS, got hooked on H and I was around it all the time. I had so many opportunities to just say "fuck it, I'll see what this is like" but I never did. Because I made the choice not to.

So ultimately it is on the individual unless force or coercion comes into play and you can't get trapped into the mindset of "I did this to them" despite how tempting it is. Like Canuck said earlier, if he has become friends with someone else then he could have very well fallen into even worse shit. Don't get bogged down on hypothetical hindsight like that, it accomplishes nothing except bad and unproductive thoughts. I've learned that through experience. It takes a little bit of practice and sometimes you feel like an asshole but you can't let yourself be blamed for things other people have done to themselves because then you go on a self loathing thought tangent on top of the other person dealing with their shit and that helps nothing, it only adds to the problem.

Edit: Oh, and to add to this it would also be different if you were bringing this around someone much younger, say like if you were in your 30s and you introduced stuff to someone in their early 20s or late teens. Even though they're legal it's still kinda sketch because they really are still developing their minds and are pretty impressionable so that's definitely a gray area even though kids in that age do commonly experiment with alcohol and drugs themselves. But someone in their 20s influencing someone in their 30s? Unless they're mentally disabled or something, fuck that lol they've lived life long enough to know what's wrong and right and what they want and don't want

Unless you tied him down and funneled alcohol down his throat, it was his decision. Dude's in his 40s, he's a grown ass man. Even 15 years ago thats late 20s/early 30s when you said it started, thats still way too old to still be using "I was impressionable and I didn't know better" as an excuse for his choices. Don't feel bad or feel like you "corrupted" a dude that by all accounts is like 6 years older than you lmao.

Ah I gotcha

Tomorrow is my girl's birthday and I got her a sketchbook and an art set. She's shown me some of her drawings and they're pretty good. A lot better than anything I could do, but all she uses is a #2 pencil and she's mentioned wanting to get into painting and stuff in passing. This thing has a bunch of colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic, markers and felt pens so its a nice thing to get her started to find out what she likes to use. I also got her a bottle of Patron, and I told her I still have the other bottle of Cuervo left for the weekend so she thinks she's gonna be sipping on that instead lol she's in for a surprise.

I asked her what she wanted to do this weekend and she said all she wanted to do was order wingstop for her birthday dinner (she doesnt want to go anywhere and have to wear a mask) and then just get baked and watch TV/play VGs all weekend. So we're gonna do that but I got all her favorite munchies as well

I also got some scented massage oil which needs no explanation lol
