I also have a 980. But honestly even more than the graphics visually, it seems like the better cards make the performance in general like the FPS a lot better and more consistent. For me on a lot of games on my 980, it doesn't reach 60fps

3080 TI is a massive upgrade over a 980. That's going from slightly more powerful than the PS4 to significantly more powerful than the PS5.

That said, you might not necessarily need it unless you're shooting for 4K or 120fps.

can people actually tell the difference between 60fps and 120fps? Is it worth it? I'm also using a 3440 x 1440 monitor.

But I want to know if this video understates the leap in quality and performance. Because obviously it's just a video, and I can't actually experience the differences first-hand through gameplay.

be honest, do the graphical improvements actually enhance the experience to a significant degree? I can run new games on low and they look good enough to me, but I'm wondering if I'm missing out by not using a beefed up new age graphics card.

Preferably I'd like an upgrade on par with the GCN/Xbox/PS2 jump to PS3/360.

Crime is everywhere. In fact, open borders can even lower the crime rate. I'd argue the percentage of immigrants that are criminals is lower than the amount current criminal percentage in the US. By allowing Mexicans in, we can have a lower crime rate

I don't understand why not? I know many Mexicans and they're all great hard-working people who contribute heavily to society. It's a win-win imo. America has a shrinking population because you people don't want to have sex, and Mexicans will have the opportunity to work in a safe country. Over time, this can improve relations between us to the point where Mexico is on par with America.

i did. I'd beat the shit out of him. I'd keep my back against the wall next to the door, and as soon as he comes in I'd immediately obtain wrist control with both hands, and point the gun back at his stomach. At this point, I'll be facing him directly, both hands established on his hands and wrist with gun facing him, and in a great position to headbutt him. I'd give him an initial headbutt that'd knock 4 teeth out that'd go flying. The dude is dazed, and relaxing his grip on he gun. I'd disarm him, and pistol whip him until he loses consciousness. Blood was everywhere. I'd grab the nearest garbage bin and throw his unconscious body into it, and turn back to an applauding classroom.

I agree with your assessment but that's exactly why I would rewatch Toy Story over and over as a kid.

I liked how sinister and grim it was.

how old were you when you watched it? I only like dark movies now as well, but not at 5.

Toy story 2 on the other hand, I watched that all the time. Easy good guys vs bad guys movie.

I remember watching this when I was 5 years old. I enjoyed it as a kid and found it entertaining. But it wasn't a movie I ever wanted to rewatch, and that had to do with the fact that the movie lacked wins and feel good scenes for the main characters. Apart from the beginning and ending, it just gets worse and worse (I mean more dire and darker) and never lets up.

To start with, the two main characters are really well-written multifaceted characters, but their flaws are a bit overwhelming for a kid's movie.

So obviously we watch this movie through the lens of Woody, and in the beginning, we're introduced to his leadership, friendship, resourcefulness, comradery, etc. Great dude that we want to see win against adversaries. And after just 10 minutes into the movie, dude gets cucked by Buzz Lightyear. A character that's hard to relate to at the moment due to his extreme delusions. Like I get why Andy prefers Buzz; he's been with Woody forever, but we as the audience have only been with Woody for 5 minutes and don't want to see him get taken down. But unfortunately that's what happens, we watch Woody lose Andy, the other toys turn on him, he embarrasses himself by calling out Buzz's abilities to fly. And it culminates with Woody trying to murder Buzz. The only scene up to now that gave some sense of reassurance is when the lamb lady tries to give Woody some wisdom; outside out of that he was isolated in his downfall. And it isn't pretty, as the viewer we wanted to see this guy succeed and triumph over conflict, but at some point you're like damn, Woody is just a piece of shit succumbing to his pride.

At the same time the other character, Buzz, is completely delusional in who he is. Dude thinks he's the savior of the universe and is completely oblivious to the marked tensions between him and Woody. This isn't someone we want to root for especially when he was introduced as an adversary to Woody.

Even after the attempted murder, things still continue to escalate between the two with Buzz now recognizing Woody as an enemy, and we get to watch Woody just get battered up on the leadup to Sid's house while Buzz continues to be completely delusional. Woody gets his ass beat by Buzz, panics when he's abandoned at the gas station, and gets destroyed by the pizza boxes in the back of the truck. Even after all this it still doesn't let up, dude gets swarmed by a group of little green aliens. At this point they finally make it to Sid's house, a complete maniacal sociopath.

The two characters we're supposed to root for spiral into even more madness while a crazed kid is trying to murder them in the background in a house filled with dangers lurking everywhere. It's like Jesus, we just want Woody and Buzz to get over their flaws, reunite, and escape Sid's house. But nope, the drift between them continues to grow, and they get split apart in this torture chamber. With Buzz, we finally get to see him realize who he truly is. He makes that leap and fails, and instead of coming to the realization of who he ought to be, dude is maimed and is driven completely mad. At the same time, Woody continues to be scornful and prideful while having to deal with the threats in the house. They finally reunite, and the old crew at Andy's place seem like they're about to help before disavowing Woody and leaving him and a broken down battered Buzz to fend for themselves. It's like oh great, we're rooting for an attempted murderer and a man driven completely mad against a sociopath.

It's at this point the movie starts to turn into something resembling a good vs evil movie, but does it drag the viewer through some dark moments to get there. And it's not like it's complete triumph for the main characters going forward anyways. When they finally get to the truck, the side characters toss Woody out like a sack of shit, and Woody breaks down; completely dejected before there's some level of win for the characters.

Overall, it was hard to watch the characters lose over and over again while going completely insane in the process. It was too much for a kid's movie, but this is what makes the movie great.
