it is night and day but my intent was never to say all indians are rapists. just that the nation as a whole has problems with it and its frustrating being wrapped into that. Indias supreme court somewhat recently ruled that it can't be considered rape if there was no skin to skin contact. IE, if they grope someone over their clothing. That kind of thing is commonplace there. so much so that female tourists are told to travel in groups or with bodyguards. I apologize if my rambling came off as overly emotional but its extremely frustrating and many men in india thinking that's normal, and having to be faced with that myself is extremely troubling. I'm speaking from inside the culture. a culture i want to do better. i'm not going to excuse things like that because some people on CE think its racist.

i post on it all the time. i alternate between the two. If i'm logged into one i have no reason to switch to the other. I don't do it to evade mods lol

Also, weird he blamed the mod for basically posting an unsourced random Twitter claiming it was a picture of the shooter's room. When several people pointed it out, he doubled down with "I'm still gonna call him a brony".

i didn't mean to call EVERY indian that. but my post also didn't expressly say every indian. It was anger towards the ones who have made that a very prominent statistic there. its a huge problem and pretending like it isn't just so you have something over is kind of sad.

Is it just meor would skateboarding overall favor a female athlete anyway? The tricks, jumps, flips, agility. If anything its one of the most gender neutral sports when it comes to competition. There are routinely female and male competitions. They skate together, compete together. From its inception its been pretty even.

Its a mixture of Depp fan girls and incels who are mad at the believe women stuff. They see a chance to attack a woman abuser and are running with it. While I think Depp was clearly the more abused party, I think their relationship seemed to be toxic both ways. Kinda getting into semantics there. Reboots can change tone as well. I don't think anyone expects it to be the same as the original either.

But many people do seem to expect it to be the same. "the reason the original worked is because of the characters chemistry", etc, etc...the same can be said about every show. Don't watch this if you're expecting Will and Uncle Phil hijinks. There is a Will and and Uncle Phil, but the Dynamic is clearly intended to be different while holding the same overall themes. All I'm saying is if you watch it, and your critique relates back to the original show, its not exactly fair. And you can't say "well they shouldn't have named it that, then", because that being done for marketing and familiarity should not reflect on what the final outcome of this show ends up being.

I mean, you can. its happened before. Was Snow White and the Huntsman the same cheery Disney telling of it? Its just based on the story. This is a literary device as old as time lol. this is nothing new. they're not retelling the story script for script. its just the same concept of a troubled teen being thrown in a new environment. This one just happens to use character names and loose personality traits from another show.

why is everyone going into this expecting it to be what the original was? its just a different show with the same premise. Of course its not going to have the same charm as the original. Its not trying to. its trying to create its own. It just happens to use the name of characters we recognize. Some of y'all are reading too deep into this being a "reboot"...its a retelling.
