A couple are planning to renew their wedding vows because terminal brain cancer means the husband can't remember their wedding day.

Kirsty and Wayne Chorlton from Porth got married in 2015 after Wayne, then 29, was given the devastating diagnosis that he had brain cancer.

While copious rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy since the original diagnosis has meant that the impact of the cancer has been kept at bay Wayne has now been told that nothing more can be done. The cancer has now spread to further parts of his brain and spinal cord and he has been told it is now terminal.

Wayne, who is now 38, already suffered with short-term memory loss after a car crash aged 18 but his wife Kirsty said a two-hour-long seizure which left Wayne in a coma in November has meant that he has lost large parts of his memories including those of his wedding day.

Now the couple, who have two daughters aged four and two, have decided to renew their wedding vows while they still can. Kirsty said: "Wayne was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 he went through radiotherapy and chemotherapy and that worked for a while. It didn't cure it but it put it at bay for a long long time.

Kirsty, whose eldest daughter is autistic and nonverbal, said doctors were hoping to start the latest round of radiotherapy on March 6. This will entail 14 cycles over the course of a fortnight. "If that doesn't work it will be the case of making him comfortable until the inevitable happens," she added.

They want to renew their vows before he starts the radiotherapy as this will leave him bedbound and seriously unwell. "The oncologist said that Wayne is more than welcome to try the radiotherapy but that the first time he had it he was quite unwell with that and this time is going to be much worse. But Wayne has said he will do anything to have more time with the girls."

Kirsty said Wayne cannot remember their first wedding day due to the amount of treatment he has had. He also had radiotherapy on the day of their wedding. She added: "It is really emotional at the minute. Since Monday I don't think there's been a day where we haven't cried. It breaks my heart because he is a fantastic father to the kids. I'm still in a daze I don't want to accept it. It just knocked him for six. We just want to make lots of memories."

The couple, who have been together for 13 years, hope to have an "intimate" ceremony with just family and friends similar to their actual wedding.

The problem with using bicycles as a common form of transportation is that theyre often parked outside and open to the environment, accidents, or even theft. These are risks everyone is aware of and takes into consideration any time a bike is left unattended.

What took place on December 15 last year, however, is quite possibly the last thing anyone would expect to have happen to a bicycle.

At about 7:30 a.m. on the day in question, a teenager approached her bicycle which was parked outside a station in Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture. However, sitting atop the seat was human fecal matter. She immediately notified the police and an investigation was launched.

As a result, a 28-year-old man who lives in neighboring Miyagi Prefecture was arrested on suspicion of vandalism. The suspect is accused of defecating on the bicycle seat sometime between 5 p.m. on December 14 and 7:30 a.m. the following day when the victim left her bike in the parking area.

Although details surrounding the incident are few and far between, the police were specific that the seat had been defecated upon, rather than the feces having been placed or smeared in another way. A motive was also initially unknown until about a day later, when the suspect reportedly admitted that he was attracted to the victim and specifically targeted her bike.

Nemesis is flat out easier to avoid than Mr X AND you have a dodge move AND you're rewarded for taking him out.... The game encourages you to fight him. Plus he never appears randomly.

After its passage in the Senate, Spains lower house passed the Law for the Real and Effective Equality of Trans Persons and for the Guarantee of LGTBI Rights, which will allow transgender genital surgery and hormonal treatments from the age of 16 without parental consent.

Known simply as the Trans Law, it was pushed by the socialist-communist ruling coalition with the backing of LGTBI pressure groups (lesbians, gays, transsexuals, bisexuals, and intersex). The law passed the Congress of Deputies despite opposition from advisory bodies during the legislative process.

Both the Council of State and the General Council of the Judiciary strongly opposed some of the provisions of the law, especially with regard to the lack of protection for minors.

Prior to the passage of this national law, autonomous regional governments had passed laws on these matters beginning in 2009.

The Trans Law passed yesterday establishes the possibility of changing ones name and sex in the civil registry at the request of the person from the age of 16. Between the ages of 14 and 16, this change requires the consent of the parents or legal guardians. In case of discrepancies, a judge may intervene.

To make these changes on the national ID card, children between 12 and 14 years of age must have judicial authorization. Before the age of 12, the civil registry cannot be changed, although the law stipulates that minors must be treated in their various environments in accordance with their expressed sexual identity.

In any case, the need to present a medical or psychological report that supports the consistency of a self-perception divergent from the natural state of each individual has been eliminated.

Sex change for minors

The legislative process has divided the feminist groups. This division even led to scuttling the first attempt to pass this law in 2021.

Some feminists criticized the possibility that men accused of crimes against women could declare themselves female to obtain legal and even prison benefits. Concerns have also been raised that men could enter womens sports competitions claiming to be women, creating unequal conditions given the natural constitution of men compared with women.

Various bishops have spoken out in recent months against the provisions of the Trans Law.
Last December, the bishop of Orihuela-Alicante, Jos Ignacio Munilla, spoke ironically about the the law, saying: Weren't we scientists? How is it possible that we now override genetics completely? To hell with the fascist chromosomes! The chromosomes are not going to tell me what I am, he said.
