When leftists claim that our outcomes are shaped more by our circumstances than our choices, they are probably right. But that doesn't address the question of what the best policy is for the future, which is the most important question we have. We want a policy that makes everyone as well off as possible, not a policy that tries (and invariably fails) to reward people who are "deserving."

In VA (northern and central) I have seen many Obama (more 08 than 12 though, strangely enough) stickers and many Romney (some McCain/Palin too) stickers, but when it comes to signs on lawns and on the side of the road and in medians, I've only seen RP.

I'm in VA too, and this is all pretty much true, except for instead of Romney it's usually those "NObama" stickers or whatever. Haven't seen hardly any Romney stickers. But yeah, there's like three houses in my neighborhood now that have Ron Paul signs in their yards. I've visited all of them and thanked them for their help... they were all nice people.

I put a Libertarian sticker on my truck.

I've always been atheist, and I used to be pretty militant about it, but I stopped being militant when I adopted Libertarianism. I realized freedom of religion is too important. And just about everybody I've converted to Libertarianism in real life has a different religion. I count two Christians, one Catholic, another atheist, and a Jew.

It kinda gets me excited that such a variety of people can work together for a greater good, rather than Republicans who are seemingly mostly religious and Democrats who are seemingly mostly non-religious.

Like Baghdad in AD 800-1100, which was the intellectual center of the world at the time, where everyone was welcome from Jews to Christians to "doubters", and they were all there exchanging ideas. And it was that period where we had all those advances in mathematics and biology and engineering and got stuff like... Arabic numerals.

And then all of a sudden their government forced them to stop being open to other beliefs and everything went downhill and they haven't recovered since.

That's why I'm afraid of people like Rick Santorum who are overbearing with their religions, or the city government of Phoenix, Arizona, who are demeaning to other peoples' religions.

I really don't wanna see our country become like modern day Baghdad, but sometimes it seems like it's inevitable.

As many times as he said he doesn't support it, he also said he does support it. I guess you didn't watch that video. Or know that the blueprints for Obamacare were copied from Romney's healthcare plan used in Massachusetts.

Romney's only saying he's gonna repel Obamacare to get gullible Republicans like yourself to vote for him. He's infamous for being a flip-flopper; he's not actually gonna do it. You can literally go to Youtube right now and see how two-faced he is. It's like when Obama was going to be the peace-time, pro civil liberties candidate, but did the exact opposite when he got into office. Or when Bush promised a non-aggressive foreign policy when he was campaigning. They're just crooked politicians being crooked politicians.

It's basically come down to "Vote Libertarian" or "Betray the Constitution." I have no doubt you'll gleefully choose the latter.

True, but lingering around Ron Paul, who isn't even gonna be on the ballot in 2012, doesn't seem healthy for the liberty movement. We need to get people more interested in Gary Johnson.

There's also a lot of people who are "scared" of Ron Paul or whatever, for being "racist" or "extremist" or whatever. I think Gary Johnson is our nice clean slate that we should all work on.

I love Ron Paul too, and never compromising, and all that, but we might have to move on.
