The one in Rolent where you have to find the 8-eyed iron beast had me stumped because I just never noticed the object it relates to. Granted I played on the PSP so it might have been easier on PC with a bigger screen but I probably still would have missed it regardless.

The ones with riddles are cool but the ones like the above that are just 'go find this random object that you otherwise wouldn't pay attention to' are kind of dumb

Yeah I wouldn't call it vague. Some of it had that 'realness' to it that deepened the impact. Like how one of them cut themselves to make sure their blood was clean and in doing so tried to convince themselves that they themself were still clean. Like it's messed up but you can also totally understand the mindset of an immature child in that position and how they would feel dirty from what's been done to them and how they would come up with a ritual like that to stay sane.

It also contrasts to how they've sort of matured past their age and casually and rationally offer advice about how to please the men and to avoid being hurt and beaten. Then of course there's the 'reveal' at the end about who all the children were but that's honestly just icing on the cake

Little things like that add up to make that whole scene just... yikes.

Actually if I hadn't played the 3rd before Zero I'm not even sure I would have picked up on the nature of what that lodge was and thus I wouldn't know that the dirt they had on Hartmann was the fact that he used that lodge and thus was a child predator. From what I recall Zero was a lot more vague about it

It's mainly because the nature of the content generally catches people off guard because it's pretty heavy compared to other stuff. They even had to censor it for the PSP version release because it was a bit too risque. Like the entire first half of it was straight out removed.

That's actually kind of the most disappointing thing to me about the series continuing on consoles now because you'll probably never have a moment like Star Door 15 again in future games.

(If you don't remember it you can watch it on youtube or something, better than just explaining.)

Yeah I still like chapter 3 better because it felt more interesting as a whole whereas chapter 4 felt like a forced pit stop with one really good scene.

Although I really liked the dream sequence in chapter 4 mainly because the trope of enemy using illusions to trick and break the protagonist's will is a very common trope but it's actually pretty rare to see instances in which the illusion itself isn't actually of the enemy's making and as a result, her mother isn't some 'evil illusion trying to trick her that she has to see through' but is actually a genuinely benevolent representation of her mother and as a result it actually ends up having a positive effect on her growth as a character.

Also dat song mang

Sometimes he can be really stupid though. When I first played I had both characters at nearly opposite sides and a lot of the times he just ran back and forth because apparently he couldn't decide which one he wanted to attack lol.

He does have a really powerful attack though so it depends on how much of an asshole he wants to be

VeryInsane posted...
So that was certainly a fight

I never even bothered trying to win. First time I got him down to like 30% health to no issue and was like "well this isn't so hard" then he just decided to heal spam to full health without even letting you get a turn and I just said fuck it and noped out

I guess you're supposed to time your S-Crafts to finish him off at that point but whatever

The school part in general was when I started liking the game I think

Which is funny because when it happened I was like Argh, going to school? This is going to suck

I don't think he really had enough of an active role for me to have much of an opinion on him.

Well, other than thinking of him as a man-god like the game hypes him up to be lol

I didn't really start getting into it until around meeting Kloe but up to that point I didn't find playing it to be unpleasant at all.

That said, I did find FC to be the weakest game in the series out of all I've played so far(though I stopped before Cold Steel since I want to wait until the last game is around the corner and I have a feeling that Cold Steel could easily take over that position from what I've heard lol)

I'm actually surprised that the GameFAQs score for FC is 4.36 and the score for SC is 4.43. Those two games feel leagues apart to me. SC was just incomparably better

Yeah from the sound of your negative attitude I don't think you'll come around. I mean, I'd at least recommend getting out of the prologue first before making a judgment but it's probably a lost cause anyway

Earth Wall is honestly a waste of time if you're playing on Normal and that generally goes for all the games. It's only needed for the higher difficulties
