I already platinumed FF1. Id like to platinum each game, but my concern is missing a single missable enemy on the bestiary, so we will see. Im going to take FF2 & FF3 much slower than I took FF1, so who knows the pace that Ill be playing it. Also, for what it is worth, I previously platinumed FF7 & FF10 as well. Doing it with FF10 was such a grind-fest, maxing out the sphere grid to bear perfection TMOG posted... I'd actually say it is for any fan of the series who wants to see the origins of many series mainstays, such as chocobos, Cid*, and dragoons, not to mention various enemy types that would go on to become staples of the Final Fantasy bestiary rather than generic enemies pulled from the D&D Monster Manual. Well, its a must-play for anyone who is that committed to the series, absolutely. Ive beaten FF2 twice before, so I know the flow of the game, but I dont have the game memorized like I do with FF1, FF4 & FF7. Longer game than Id anticipated. I liked the darker tone of the game, and the dungeons were good. Also liked the used of double hook shots, that was a nice feature. Disliked how big Hyrule Field is. It feels needlessly big. I also didnt care for battles, whenever those became a necessary part of the game. In the US, the 10 biggest metropolitan areas have about 87 million people. Basically 25% of the entire countrys population within 10 cities metropolitan areas. Just about every country is like that. And Pakistan has those cities less spread out. I asked him if he wanted to go as a gift from me, and he said yes. I never really wanted to do it myself, but figured why not. And I was surprised at how I never really got nervous at any point of the day, even as I was leaning out of the plane. I guess it was just because I knew that it was like 99.999% safe? Im still surprised to this day at how calm I was all day. The drop from 13,500 feet to 5,000 feet (when you pull the cord) is over really really quickly. The decent with the chute deployed was super chill. Just really relaxing. And it during this time that I actually realized Oh yeah, it was pretty cold up there, but I can actually feel it getting hotter as we descend (it was a 90 degree day). I think the one experience was enough for me, but if a group of friends were doing it, I wouldnt say no. It isnt perfect by any means and it still has plenty of flaws, but Id say its a decent game now. Still the weakest entry of FF1-6, IMO, but its decent. | The_Popo 04/21/23 9:47:49 PM #38 | Oh damn, then I apologize about one of my earlier posts, talking about how I got WarMechd. I thought youd played them before, or most of them before. Now Im more curious about this topic than I previously was. Also, in case you still arent aware about what I was talking about in the room where you fight Tiamat, its just a long, skinny bridge way all the way to Tiamat. Along that bridge, you have a 1/64 chance of fighting WarMech - arguably the hardest fight in the game. Its up there with fighting Chaos, particularly for that point in the game, when you are still weaker than youd be at the end game (they made Chaos much tougher in the remasters compared to the original NES game, so Id say Chaos is decidedly better now, although WarMech still hits like a damn tank). I couldnt tell you the last time I had to fight it when I wasnt actually hunting it. It fucked me up something fierce. First turn Nuke basically took out everyone. Thankfully, the remaster allows you to retry from the start of the bridge.
