The Zero Escape games are great, but there is something to be said about having a whole murder game -> trial format. Your Turn to Die is just Danganronpa with indie jank so it hits almost that exact same itch. With Danganronpa, the game was linear, so we could follow along very easily. With the Nonary Games, it delves a lot into different potential branches of what could happen, and you have a decent amount of freedom to explore those branches. The overall narrative was interesting but overall it didn't go anywhere fast and didn't really do anything for its ending. There are better games for visual novels with branching narrative structures and even amongst the "just okay" ones it doesn't stand out. Powdered_Toast posted... I played it, it was ok. It was a bit slow to start, and the entire middle section took way too long. The gimmick was kinda neat but also a bit of a pain and somehow felt underutilized at the same time. Appreciate both of your inputs. Danganronpa is about multiple whodunnit games within a game that contains an overarching story, whereas Zero Escape is a giant mystery within each game, containing escape room puzzles and parallel timelines where small differences change what you can do. Anyone every play Shibuya 428? | The_Popo 10/11/22 12:58:54 AM #363 | I never tagged this topic I would always just stumble upon it every week or so, then catch up on it. Glad you enjoyed the games! I tried Danganronpa 1 back in 2016 after hearing it was comparable to the Ace Attorney games, and it just might be an all time top 10 series for me. I went on to platinum all 4 games (absolutely not recommended for V3 ugh) and watch the Danganronpa 3 anime (also not recommended). Fantastic series as a whole! Also, since I havent seen any one from this side comment on it yet regarding the ending of V3, Im clearly on the Also, I think Im in the minority for ranking the 1st game as the best, but Id put them as 1 > 2 > V3 > UDG. I just really liked the cast in the original game. JKwaffle posted...
