I think most of B8's problem is they think Creative mode is the focus. Which really isn't the case, Survival is the fun part that has a ton of stuff to do.

Not really. They put in whatever characters they can, and they happened to get a good number of 3rd parties last time. That should not expected to be easily reproducible - licensing between companies can be a nightmare and it's a miracle that Smash managed to pull it off so many times. I say this as someone who wants exactly 0 more Nintendo characters (that would feasibly get in) in Smash. Being disappointed if it's not Dante From The Devil May Cry series instead of an actual Nintendo character shows how warped expectations have gotten.
