Health bosses have conceded that Perth doctors and nurses expect to be assaulted at work after disturbing vision of a doctor at Royal Perth Hospital having his throat crushed in a chokehold by a mentally-disturbed 21-year-old man emerged in court.

Mohamed Arab was handed a suspended prison term by a Perth magistrate after pleading guilty to a charge of assaulting a public officer following the early-morning incident last November.

The court was told how Arab, who was a frequent patient at the hospitals emergency department, approached the doctor from behind before grabbing him in a violent headlock.

The grip was so fierce it partially crushed the doctors windpipe, causing a swelling injury to the physicians throat that temporarily affected his voice.

Security vision captured the horrific incident, as well as security staff and then police swooping to arrest Arab.

He later told authorities he was getting the treatment he felt he needed and just wanted some attention.

The doctor involved has returned to work.

Arabs lawyer Hugh Kopsen told the court that the young man, who has a previous conviction for aggravated assault, had significant psychological issues.

But he also said he accepted his assault was serious and regretted his actions.

At a previous hearing, Arab had asked the magistrate to impose the maximum sentence a seven-year jail term.

Instead, he was handed an eight-month jail term, suspended for 16 months, with conditions he abide by any medical treatment deemed appropriate.

it's the name of the planet that Warcraft happens on. the characters in the picture are just a random orc and a random human. the new expansion is about going back to warcraft roots of Alliance and Horde fighting a war. for a while now, WoW has been about everyone teaming up to save the world from this or that world ending threat.
