How do you decide these bizarre lineups?

I don't particularly like 9 very much. I think on average its appropriately rated but these days it feels like 9 fans have all found each other and turned into this annoying blob that gets all mad at anyone disliking it (or just screaming about it being the best if they're left alone). The parts where it shines are quite good: Vivi's story is good; the amount and variety of side stuff is good; it has a fun fantasy vibe; the locations are varied; etc. But its uneven (Amaranth, Quina, and Freya's stories kind of don't go anywhere) and just not as good I think it gets hyped up to be, again, specifically by the fans that are still around talking about it.

You can buy the actual mix they use. Its just less satisfying because you can't get instant refills with no effort but they do taste the same.

They're both wheat noodles my man. There are different flavors, yes. But saying ramyeon is all one thing is ignorant to korean noodles.

Instant ramen and freshly made ramen are not really the same thing. I'm being kind of dramatic by saying I'm judgmental of people that prefer the junk version but to me its clearly vastly inferior.

And ramyeon is kind of deliberately a one-note product. It only exists as dried noodles with flavor packets. Which is fine and enjoyable but its simple. If you're expanding "Korean noodles" into , , , and stuff then that's a completely different conversation.

I tend to like their broth dishes - ramen, udon, soba, shabu shabu, etc. A lot of their meat dishes are sensational as well - karaage, yakiniku, wagyuu steak, and so on. Hell, I don't think I've ever had a bad meal in Japan, so long as it was served after noon.

Tell me you've never eaten Japanese food without telling me you've never eaten Japanese food.

There's plenty of cooked food in Japanese cuisine but a defining element of quite a lot of it is either raw or unaltered (such as dried or fermented) ingredients. Trying to dunk on someone for pointing that out makes you look like a fool.

I think I tend to eat more Korean food than Japanese. Korean ramyeon is way better than Japanese ramen, and I think I like kimbap better than sushi.

I really hope you're comparing ramyeon to instant ramen, in which case whatever. But I can't help being judgmental when people compare it to actual ramen. Ramyeon is fine but it basically just does one thing while actual ramen has so many varieties and flavours.

Also why would I post on Reddit? The whole point of the site is a weird game to get as many upvotes as you can, there's no point in remembering the names of anyone, they might as well not even be real people, and the site itself breaks if you have a conversation for more than 10 replies. If you're having a normal conversation with someone, you don't just get downvotes and then silence for saying something stupid/controversial. It feels bad. Imagine talking to your friends, and out of nowhere you say something, they all just stare at you silently, give you a. No, they reply to you like a normal interaction.

But now this place has become North Korea, so idk. Oops, a political post...

I don't know why people try and characterize reddit this way. Its not 100% wrong if you're trying to go to some cesspool like r/gaming looking for a genuine sense of community but that's obviously the wrong way to use the site. Reddit is often very useful if you're looking for information about stuff and if you want a community then small subs function normally.

I think I'll read "How Do You Live?" (the book the recent Miyazaki movie was based on) after finishing part 1 of War and Peace since that book is extremely long. Its very good though.

I don't understand how so many people have their brains completely broken by the Epic Store. Steam is definitely a smoother better designed experience but Epic has cheaper prices (at least in the region I use it), offers 5-10% cashback on purchases, gives a better revenue split to devs, and has basically the same sales that Steam does (if not better). If you need multiplayer or to centralize your achievements on Steam then I guess those are factors but if you just want games for cheaper then Epic Store is good. People that soil themselves over "how bad it is for gaming" or whatever are abject lunatics that should not be listened to.

Three people (myself included) that work with kids like them and everyone else who posted so far sounds like some kind of anti-social freak that may or may not be legally forbidden to interact with kids regardless of their feelings.

I know longer intuitively know what a pound is. I usually weigh 75kg but I'm currently 78kg and apparently that's 172lbs.

All-Stars does a pretty crummy job with porting and anyone saying "All-Stars + World" is obviously cheating. "My favourite game is five games hur hur hur" shut the fuck up and answer properly.

World is obviously running away with the poll but I can't say anything other than SMRPG. That game fucking rules and that while the remake is amazing the original is still just as playable as it always was.

My only concern with 1 would be that getting shot that many times would eventually cause permanent damage/build up enough damage to cause my intestines to spill out or something but if that is mitigated by magic then its probably the best since it doesn't take years. 2 is also probably fine.

How popular are Che shirts/posters these days? I can't imagine its just a thing Millennials remember that has disappeared in reality but I also can't imagine its actually a current vibrant trend among kids either.

Oh, there are absolutely concerns about Tiktok being controlled by China. There are just similar concerns about any social media being owned by any government, such that "it'd be okay if America had control of Tiktok" is pretty blatantly just a power grab hidden behind a thin veneer of nationalism and xenophobia.

If you want to give your information to China or Russia you're free to sign up for a Vkontakte or WeChat account because US and Chinese censorship are not the same. It is an absurd mental contortion to equivocate the US rejecting direct CCP control of a major social media platform (which, again, would be totally free to exist in the US if it were controlled by almost literally anyone else) and China's all-encompassing firewalling of every single foreign media app that catches their attention.

I'm really curious what kind of warped ignorant version of the world one has to have to genuinely not at least conceptually understand that its a bad idea to have the most popular social media thing in your society be run directly by an actively hostile foreign government. China is the most famous high profile example of thinking exactly this! They sure as shit do not allow any wholly foreign controlled social media in their country.

They filmed in Xinjiang (probably to earn points/film subsidies from the CCP) but then that bit them in the ass when the international community noticed and got pissed. Everything except just letting anyone other than the Chinese government own them, which would solve the whole thing instantly and move like a hundred billion dollars into the bank accounts of whomever was in charge of the sale. But the CCP won't let that happen because they think owning TikTok is worth more than whatever the monetary value is.

I'm not sure if the ban will work even if it passes (although if TikTok is moved off from the Apple and Google storefronts then its dead as a cultural force even if people can sideload it) and I don't know exactly how precisely the CCP can operate TikTok as a lever of control but I do think having the most popular social media app in America be owned and shadow-operated by an enemy government is bad.

Just like DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho is straight up not good in Japanese. The dub is also legitimately fantastic.

They do call him Chrono (in English characters) in some Japanese material, apparently. The game title and the character name are also the same in katakana. So...text limits.

Anyone that lives in an OECD country and says anything under 50% is well on their way to nutjob territory. I even voted 6 because a lot of what any single media source is biased/badly reported but the reason I know that is because I can see other media sources and figure stuff out. Like, if you actually think you don't trust the media but then listen to what people around you say then you are actually just trusting the media second-hand. If you don't even have that then you're some crackpot out in the woods that doesn't even know who's president right now.

I feel bad for all the people that hyped it up soooo hard and then like a month from release Netflix tripped over their own dick every time they said more about the series and then it finally came out and it seems like nobody gives a shit and its just barely passable. It really does feel like nobody is talking about this series outside of exactly the context of this thread.

I wonder how the name "Unicorn Overlord" won out after all the other options they surely went through. The game has plenty of horn/unicorn imagery so I understand the reference but its still fucking terrible and makes it sound very silly.

That said, the game rocks and the demo is very extensive and carries over to the real game if you buy it so you don't waste your time.

Its on GamePass and regularly goes on pretty deep discount in Steam sales these days. Normally I consider "Its on GamePass" to be pretty damning for how much of a waste of time a game must be to bother with but pretty much any SMT content is at least worth checking out.

Atlus did a very poor job of explaining that Apocalypse is a sequel. I think you get a couple of trinkets for importing a save from 4 or something but its an entirely new game that takes place after the events of 4 and is just as long.

It weirdly still has a website. It lists supposed capabilities but not actual specs so its in a weird grey area of still basically being entirely fake and almost sort of real, I guess.
